Hi everyone,

I've just taken a 14 month internship in Nice (lucky me) and I arrived here about 3 weeks ago. Now I'm after a cheap bike over here, something to get me to work in the morning enjoyably and have fun when I want to.

The roads are VERY twisty round here, and I'm pretty skint, so I'm looking at a little 125 2 stroke to enjoy them properly. I can't afford anything much bigger and I don't think you could use it anyway, there are no straights! so I just need something that will handle well.

So....

quick question, is a french NSR the same spec as a UK model? I mean are they restricted in any horrible way? should it give the same performance? The local bike shop has one up for sale:

1998 Honda NSR125 with 26000 kilometres (I think about 15000 miles) on it for £1400. A bit tatty but started first time at the dealer's. What do you reckon? good comuuter and twisty-eater or ticking two-stroke timebomb?

cheers,
james

Hi

Probably fair enough, but I think they are restricted.

How about something like a big single?

All the best

Keith

dunno, I'm still looking to be honest. The bike market seems odd here, there doesnt seem to be much for sale, I think everyone just runs em into the ground. You see loads of old men on just as old bmws and then a load of teenagers on scooters and 50cc dirtbikes (they love those derbi things).

I'm still undecided, but I have to admit I'd be happy with a little nsr, I enjoy riding s strokes, its just I was worried about how reliable a 98 model with 15000 miles would be. Gonna look at a few more biker shops after work tonight maybe.
