My RS125 won't start. Everything is clean and was working well. Spark plug is sparking just fine, fuel is flowing through as the plug is wet. Engine is turning over as there is compression (can feel it over the hole with plug off and out the exhaust). Battery voltage says 8v but it is brand new and fully charged. I've had this battery voltage problem for a while now and can't solve it. It always reads 8.0v no matter what. Anyway if I put the bike in gear and push it after trying to start I hear a ping/ding sound sound when I first push it. Then when I start it I hear the ping/ding sound on first try then just the rough rough rough rough sound of the engine turning over. Does not sound right at all. What might be wrong?

I think you need to start off by checking your voltmeter - there should be a noticeable difference in the reading when the battery is at rest, when it is turning over the engine, and when it is being charged. Check it against another 12v battery that is known to work.

That doesn't seem right - but if the voltmeter is reading accurately, then the battery is knackered - whether it is new or not! Take it back to where you bought it and get them to test it.

There are other videos of RS125's starting up - and they all seem to be spinning faster than yours before they fire up!

A dodgy battery may not be capable of powering the CDI and the starter motor at the same time, and that's what seems to be happening in your video.
