Kymco Pulsar 125 Bike 2011

Hi everyone reason for this topic is that erverytime I try to get this bike in Neutral it takes a bit of time either it goes into 1 or 2 and misses Neutral, not sure if this is normal with this bike.

But was thinking it maybe the Engine oil, so how do I change it?
Any links or info please

Thanks

Your issue is much more likely to be caused by clutch cable adjustment or an overly tight or loose chain

Yes, what he says.

How much play do you have at the clutch lever? Play is when you pull the lever it will feel a little lose and then you feel tension as it pulls the clutch. You can reduce the play by adjusting the cable length and so open the clutch more when you pull the clutch lever.

Most bikes do struggle to find neutral anyway from my experience anyway. Never caused me a problem as when stopped I just put in first gear and hold the clutch in. I can get my bike in neutral but quite often takes more than one attempt.

Thanks for the replies...

The video on youtube isnt the same as the engine I have so not sure on what to do

The clutch cable seems fine as when the lever is halfway out (depressed) its ready to move and tried to adjust the cable but more comfortable where it is.. what d you mean the chain?

He means the final drive chain between the engine and the rear wheel which may need adjusting to the correct tension.
(Thinks.......maybe you're confused because your bike is perhaps a twist 'n go with belt drive?).
I doubt very much that changing the engine oil will make any difference to finding neutral.

Tried adjusting the cable from clutch lever then the end part at the clutch itself where I would like the bite to be set at before pulling away.

Now once I set it is now then harder to get into neutral Mad
But If I mess around with it and the bite fully open with the clutch it is easier to find neutral Confused

Any further help guys or am I doing it wrong?

Is there an adjuster the other side of the cable, ie on the clutch arm itself? Adjust it there

If I adjust the one at the lever (left hand) it just tightens the cable
The one on the clutch right side engine (at foot) it let me get a good setting on the lever but the slacker it it its harder to get into neutral Mad

Just trying to get the bite half way on the hand lever as my missus has little dipsy hands and at fully open she cant get used to the bite...

CBT is tomorrow so looking for any info

Have noticed though when the Bite is halfway and engine is cold up until 25-45 mins it gets harder to get into neutral

So would changing the oil do the trick?

No, extremely unlikely

It sounds like you're trying to adjust the fulcrum point of the lever by adjusting clutch free play

It doesn't really work like that I'm afraid. The free play needs setting properly

For a different reason (I have to ride one-armed) I have reduced the span of the lever on one of my classic bikes as in the photo, which may give you an idea for a solution for your missus

Is there any cheap aftermarket levers that I could replace to give the option to move position

like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-UNIVERSAL-SHORT-LEVER-BRAKE-CLUTCH-SET-IN-BLACK-/120541399444?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1c10d3c994
