Could we at least get a reason of why our ratings were revoked?

It's just that, I don't normally give bad karma, but when I do, I give to to people that I think deserve it, yet mine and others ratings get revoked for some reason. Some people even give me bad karma back, for basically no reason at all, to have their revenge.

I do realize this is not my forum. I was only wondering, since this was not the first time my negative karma rating has been revoked for no reason.

Apart from the one case recently (where I repeatedly explained ratings on said post would be revoked), your rating will be revoked because it doesn't meet the guidelines.

It's best to read the guide BEFORE rating, but if you've had one revoked, it's worth checking the rating guide (a link to is it shown every time you rate), which should explain why.

I revoked that spam rating because, while I dislike vlogging as much as the next man, I could not see how the post was in any way commercial advertising.

There has been a suggestion that the video was monetised. I did specifically check for this because of the spam ratings and when I looked, it was not. So YOU fed the vlogger. He got an extra view because of your spam rating!

Perhaps youtube are occasionally sneaking adverts in on non-monetised videos?

There is ALWAYS a reason I would revoke a rating. In most cases, I am only interested in spam, flame and abusive ratings unless there has been serial downrating war between specific users. I look at all the posts rated such (with the exception of users I have set to enemy and NSFW threads which are your own lookout as far as I'm concerned).

There has been a tendancy in the past for people to rate posts spam and abusive on order to get in a bigger "hit" on the persons karma. By all means rate every vlog you see as "boring" if that's what you think . For a post to be spam, it needs a commercial/advertising componant.
