Hi,
I've got a K1 GSXR 1000 but the clocks have recently stopped working - there's a backlight on the clocks, but no LCD numbers (odo or speed) and the tach doesn't do a self test. Idiot lights except fuel light work. However the bike runs perfectly. All fuses are intact (tested with multimeter)

This seems to be a common problem, and it's usually water ingress and corrosion in one of the connectors for the clocks' mini harness. The connector did have a bit of turquoise corrosion in it which I cleaned out with contact spray but this didn't make a difference. Sometimes it's also down to a battery with low charge but that isn't the problem either as I'm using a new battery. Reg/rec tested to be working.

One thing that's puzzling me is that either the wiring diagram for my bike or the loom doesn't seem to be correct. The neutral light is supposed to be powered by a blue/black stripe wire, but having tested the wires with a multimeter it's actually the yellow/turquoise wire that goes from 12v-0v-12v when you mess with the gear lever. The Blue/Black wire just stays in one state (I forget which). But what confuses me even more is that the neutral light actually works! So I'm not sure if my bike has a different loom or something?

Wiring diagram here. I can't find a specific UK model wiring diagram but they all seem to use the same colour wires.

I'm Very confused. Has anyone had GSXR clock issues like this? I don't have another bike to try the clocks out on.

Thumbs Up
