So this morning before work I turned the bike on and let it heat up for about 5 minutes before I put all my gear on.

When I looked at the bike I noticed a small patch of water under the middle part of my exhaust. When i had a feel under the exhaust I felt a small hole, maybe about half the size of a 5p coin.

So what do I do from here? I'm new to motorbikes and it's not a massive hole so I know not to panic.

Any suggestion would be great, thanks.

I suggest panic!

On a more helpful note, repair hole.

At the lowest part of the exhaust?

There's often a drain hole there to let condensed water out, but it's usually just a pinhole.

More details?

Exhaust bandage/wrap and jubilee clips. Has served my bike for 2 years now.

If you can get the exhaust off and the rest of it is in good condition, you could probably braze the hole - welding would probably make it bigger.

Minty - I'll have a google for them and see what they're like thanks!

Taught2B - I have no idea how to take it off and I'm not sure about doing.

It the drain hole to let the condensation out don't block it or the pipe will rust from the inside very quickly

Really? That's good news! It's on the underneath of the exhaust so I won't be blocking it. Cheers Dave.

Take a picture. It probably is a drain hole if it's stock but don't count on it.

I'd not have noticed as I'd have started the bike and ridden off straight away but pics for sure.

My money is on it being a drain hole if it's at the lowest point. You should be able to tell just from looking at it.

Anywhere there, that's likely to be a drain hole, if it's small.

If it's bigger than a few mm, I'd be suspicious that it's a fluxed rotted out drain hole or damage.

Could be perfectly normal, could be INSTANT DEATH. It's really up to the OP to decide or post pix thnx.

Has the exhaust note got louder or changed?

If yes, the hole is not meant to be there.

If no, the hole is just a drain hole.
