Hate is a strong word.
However, sometimes they can be hard to love....

We've had our cats over 16 years. For this particular thread I'll mention:

- they trip you up
- they whinge and moan incessantly about wanting food
- they bring in live creatures and release them in the house
- they bring in dead creatures, dissect them and leave them where you walk, in the dark
- they vomit up hairballs, but only on soft surfaces (never on the wipe-clean wood or tiles floor, only the carpeted area or the doormats)
- they claw leather sofas
- they crap where you do digging
- they bring fleas into the house
- the go into all the places they are not allowed as soon as you drop your guard
- they shed hair all over everything
- they disappear for half a day or a day so you start to worry, then reappear as if nothing happened.

They're getting on now, so I guess there will be a time soon when they'll be gone. Despite the above, I guess I'm going to miss the little ***ts.

Make experience with cats is they don't give a shit about you and a totally selfish.

Dogs do actually seem to care about you, regardless of food. My dog doesn't and stink barks rarely. She also knows what you are down/ill whatever she will come can give you affection.

I think this is pretty accurate

That was my understanding, but our little pussy is actually quite solicitous towards sick and injured two legged can-openers, especially of the junior sort. Quite surprising.

Boy-cat will groom you given half a chance. Quote from Mrs Borg: "Cat tongue isn't as rough as cow tongue." Eh?

My old cat was affectionate, loyal, empathic, and friendly. She didn't claw things, she didn't capture creatures as presents. She did shed hair everywhere, but she didn't make noise or smell like dogs do.

I miss her.

Another reason to hate cats is that they make my eyes run and I want to rip my skin off when they're near. Sad

I once had a cat. Went to sleep in the bedroom one night and closed the door so I wouldn't be disturbed. Couldn't sleep so I was dangling my foot by the side of the bed in pitch black when that demon of a cat, god knows how he got in, jumped on my leg scratching and bitting it.

I no longer have a cat...

I was the mad cat lady for years until I finally got another dog.
But the dog hates cats so I had to go cat-less for the first time in probably 25 years.

Mad

Cats rule.

I have to go and mind other people's cats on a part time basis nowadays, to get my fix of feline smoochery. @SootiesLondon Laughing
