Use my bike daily. Today used it in peeing down rain this morning 5am, rode back in relatively sunny conditions 5pm, literally around the corner from my house all electrics died.

Got home and wouldn't start/do anything with ignition at all after turning off. Left it for 20min and ignition worked.

Put on trickle charge for a couple of hours and started first time, rode to the shop fine. Went to start it up for return journey and again nothing had to run and bump start it which worked, rode about 100meters and started to cut out again before completely dying. Walked it home and tried ignition again, lights came on and the bike sort of tried but then completely died again.

What's happening?! I need it to get to work in the morning or I'm stuffed (40 odd mile round trip.)

Got it on trickle charge but not sure if it'll get me there, or back.

You checked battery connections and sprayed the living shit out of everything with WD40?

Also what voltage are you showing on idle and 5k.

Connections look and feel fine.
Don't have a voltage checker because I'm a complete bellend. I brought this battery around a year ago, maybe 10 months.

one possible reason may be alternator does not charges the battery as it should be. Hence it works till battery is compltely dead.

I kind of doubt that, because the yellow pin alternator connector is well hidden, you sure you have checked it? Watch this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PevgFfi_oaY

I think there is a common GSXR problem with rust on the pin connectors from alternator. Find it and use Halfords contact cleaner spray to clean. Do yourself a favour and never use WD40 on electrical contacts.

https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/lubricating-penetrating-oil/halfords-electrical-contact-cleaner-400ml

I am afraid you need to check the voltage to find out. There are many things that can go wrong. Multimeter cost £8 in Halfords:
https://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/hand-tools/rolson-digital-multimeter

Find your service manual you have there all isntructions how to do the checks. https://www.suzukigsxr.cz/docs/Suzuki_GSX-R_600_K4+K5.pdf

Make sure the battery is in good condition, fully charged.

Set the meter on DC volts in the range of 10-20v, start engine and rev to ~4000rpm, volts should be approx 14+.

If this fails then:

Remove and check the pin connector between the alternator and rectifier for any melted/over heated connections, if these are good set the meter on AC volts (50-100v), start engine and check volts between 1-2, 1-3,2-3 wires an about 4000 rpm, you should get about 50-60v on all 3 readings.

If any are low the problem is with the alternator, if all 3 readings are good the problem is with the rectifier.

Go buy a Multimeter.

Start bike and put red pin to positive and black to negative on battery.

It should show between 13 and 14v.

When revved it should show 14v or about that.

Sounds like the reg/rec is fried.

Did you make it into work today?

Only just spotted this thread, but I'm around Birmingham with some spare time on my hands today.

Sounds like a poor connection to me.

My ignition connection (which is rubber sealed) was a bit crappy and would be very intermittent - rectifier connector blocks usually go on these as said previously.

Also could be a cracked fuse, I had a similar issue recently and the main fuse wasn't blown, but cracked and so working on and off.
