Hiya, does anyone know what these rubber inserts are on my guzzi? One of them started to melt after a 2-3 hour blast on the weekend but looking at them I can't really see what that are or what they do.

Hoping it doesn't mean I am going to explode in a ball of flames! Smile

they look like bolt caps. Either remove them or ignore them.

The round stud covers should be there but the extra bits of rubber have been added to stop the round stud covers from falling off which is common, ignore them.

Yeah looks like there is a rubber stopper on the bolt caps and then a rectangular rubber bit that slides inbetween the fins, maybe just to hold the caps in I guess.

If you're going to replace them. Use silicone sheet cut out of a baking tray.

Or just "glue" the stud covers on with some plumbers silicone.
