As part of the prep for the upcoming winter I'm thinking about getting a one piece rain suit to go over my textiles. I'm going to be doing some commuting at all hours so am getting some muffs and a rain suit.

From having a quick read around the problems seem to be that either they leak, are a pain to get on or aren't breathable. The leaking part isn't too much of a problem as long as it's not like a seive.

At the moment I'm leaning toward the Rev It Pacific, any experience of these?

I bought one from J&S a few months back. It was good buying from there as I could try some one and get the right size, although I was absolutely fucking boiling by the time I'd tried on 3 suits.

As said above, get one large enough to go over whatever you wear underneath.

btw, the one I got was £55.

I have this one

I rode through 3 hours of rain to Wales, then around Wales for a day (didn't rain on that day though) and I was very dry. Bit warm, but that will be because layers.

I've read nothing but praise for the Richa Typhoon one piece suit all over the web.

A mates got one and swears by his. I've yet to get one as the waterproofs I have are fine for now.

Dammit, I shouldn't have to buy an oversuit to go over textiles for fk sake!
One day, I'll find some textiles that are properly waterproof without spending the annual budget of a small nation Rolling Eyes

Actually, I think my Ixon gear isn't bad, and have decided (for now) that I get a wet crotch cos the water runs off tank and visor straight down to where the jacket overlaps the trousers and gets in there, as everywhere else seems fine. If I could find a solution to this, I'd be laughing....well, dry anyway.

Just out of interest, why a one piece suit? I've had one & they can be a right PITA to get on/off.

I have a Weise 2 piece suit, that I got from a local bike shop, got to try it on, only cost £50 too & it is brilliant, hasn't let a drop in so far!

If it's a one piece then there's less holes for water to get in. Probably cheaper to make too, which is why this one is only £40 Wink

I don't imagine it'll be an easy process, probably add another hour to my journey.

In my experience legs can be a pita. However, imo just like waterproof trousers. If you've a spare carrier bag (or bought one if Welsh) slip over boot before putting into suit (and then swap, use carrier as suit storage).

The top bit is quite easy. Except once I got my arm between the outer and some lining in the Hein Gericke one I used (that I need to reproof, leaking crotch Embarassed ).

Rich Typhoon ordered. Went for the Day-Glo Derek version. Along with my new muffs and brown bike, I will be truly irresistible to the opposite sex.

I've got a frank thomas hand-me-down one and it's brilliant, awkward to put on after you're all geared up but never leaked and keeps the wind off you as well. Only downside to mine is it's black and red, no hi-viz bits on it so I wear a hi-viz jacket over it.

I have been using a high vis vest to stop my waterproofs flapping. Becoming increasingly convinced that the dayglo yellow is an asshole attractor though. As my waterproof over-trousers are holed from the last crash, I think the replacement will be a one-piece rainsuit with some bright bits on it. Too much yellow glowy shit and the inevitable angry twat will decide that going slowly across a roundabout has erveryting to do with being scared and easily intimidated, and nothing to do with the distinct lack of traction and do something stupid.

https://www.thebikerstore.co.uk/en/products/Weise-Economy-1%252dPiece-Oversuit.html I just bought this one the other day, aswell as a pair of boots, after two commutes wearing textiles with holes in the crotch and very beat up work boots. Hasn't let any water in, (Yet!) and I'm not arriving to work sweating. So a good bit of kit.

I use a 25 quid walkers jacket and ten quid trousers. Not had any bother. Bit bulky though, but can be used for walking in rain too

Somebody on here recommended the Flexothane all-in-one and mine's been brilliant since I bought it last July. Managed to get a brand new from ebay for only £17!

They look a bit 'workman' but there's a reason why workmen wear them i.e. they actually keep the rain out. I did have a slight leakage after five hours in a storm around the crotch, but then I noticed I'd not done the button up.

RICHA typhoon..|. I've got mine early last year, driven through two monsoon like downpours and constant rain, kept me dry (with a snood keeping water from running down neck) my textlies (Richa ones) like many others let water in the crotch area after a while and as they are now over three years old getting more porous in the bum area !
