For the last few weeks I've had a mobile number trying to call me, it's not a number I recognise and I've missed the call a couple of times.
Well today as it was a mobile I thought I'd answer it.

It was an insurance *specialist* who deals with personal injury claims who wanted to speak to me about my off I had 2 years ago, yes 2 years!!!

According to them there was outstanding injury money I could claim, I said that was funny I wasn't aware of any such payout as there wasn't another insurance company involved or another party, only the metal barrier that ate my bike..

The minute I said that she couldn't get off the phone quicker!! So they are ringing around phishing for injury claims!!

I guess I shouldn't be so surprised these days!!

These calls have been going on for years and are off the back of ambulance chasers that loitered around A&E departments looking for victims.

I answered one of these once and the guy was talking all about this accident I had at work and how I could claim ££££'s and ££££'s. When I asked him to tell me about the accident in question he had no answers. I've never had an accident at work. Not where I got injured anyway.

The fuckers keep texting me about my off in 2009.

Quite a few blocked numbers on my phone now.

Best way to deal with any kind of unsolicited call is to hang up as soon as you hear something you don't like. Did this to a few different callers and usually after the second time you hang up on them they take you off their "call again" list.

I get them all the while, especially on my work mobile.

"I'd like to talk to you about an accident you've had in the last 2 years"

"That's news to me love, when was this then?"

Suddenly greeted with a dead line lol

I wouldn't be so sure they actually know about your accident, I've never had one but still get people ringing me up saying they can get me compensation.
Same story with PPI

They know no actual facts about the accident they claim to be calling about. It's a blatant fishing trip in my experience.
I have been known to lead them on sometimes. See how long they talk about my imaginary fall down an imaginary unbarriered open man hole cover, when I broke my leg. One got really excited by this, smelling the imaginary pounds before he cottoned on I was being a tool!

It's not just traffic accidents where they *might* be able to find out you had one.
Someone rang about my "industrial injuries" but
a) I don't have any, and
b) I've always been self employed!

Pure opportunism and the main beneficiary is the ambulance chasing company.

I don't know about anywhere else, but I've had someone coming to the door asking "Has anyone has had an accident in the last 3 years?" a few weeks ago.

I just laughed and shut the door in his face Rolling Eyes
