I am a novice rider and am learning all the time. I have learned a really important lesson today, this being, full face helmets and a heavy cold do not mix well. Yes I sneezed several times and yes I got snot on the inside of my lid and visor. Not good.

respro foggy mask, stops visor steaming if you don't have a pinlock, stops glasses steaming if you wear them, keeps stinging insects away from your eyes, and ensures that if you sneeze it is just icky and doesn't make a mess of your visor.

How do you find these are for moisture build-up? I've used various cheaper similar things in the past and all of them either didn't stop the fogging or would get sodden wet after a long ride from all the vapour getting exhaled into it Laughing

I've always prefered these sort of masks combined with a neck tube rather than the combined neck/face tubes as I found those slid down off the face quite easily.

You need them fitted well, too loose and they don't work. they can get pretty gross after a long ride in shit conditions. I sometimes carry a spare so I can have a dry one for return trips.

I have an oxford brand one, it's crap. I've had some generic copies from J&S, and used them until they fell apart.

I tend to ride with my visor locked shut, and the foggy mask in all year round to stop my glasses fogging and it works really well. In winter I have a pinlock on my clear visor so my approach is a bit belt and braces. The combination of the two works really well when it's really cold and wet.

Get one of these, it's a little-known fact that the big ribbed hose isn't for respiratory purposes but is actually hooked up to a vacuum that sucks out any snot and vomit detected by sensors inside the mask part. Thumbs Up

Joking aside, if you don't fancy a Respro you can try one of these:

Breathing through a neck tube gets really gross when it's cold, worse if sneezes happen, at least a foggy mask is held away from your face. Also wearing a neck tube like that will result in steamed glasses if you wear them.

Fair point, I got used to it pretty quickly though Laughing I found that rolling the top part of the tube a few times made it form a better seal, no fogged glasses after that.
