What goes through some peoples minds? Ok, here's the story, I normal like to go on the tiles on a Wednesday because schools and colleges have finished so it gets really busy. SO I go out with my mates, have a few, good night so far. Goes to the final place, Jumpin' Jaks (I'm sure some of you will have heard of it). The bouncers, don't know me, but they know my face. When it's busy, their wankers, they won't let you in, so 'ID lads', now I have only ever needed ID once, so I don't take it out with me. I'm 18, and EVERYONE, says I look 21+. Anyway, the cunts wouldn't let me or mates in, so we had to go to the take away and finish the night about two hours early. Gets to the take away feeling pissed of, waiting for food my mates food to cook, when a few girls I know came in and started chatting to me. So where in the take away for about two hours and everyone's talking. Starts looking for a taxi because it gets REALLY busy sometimes. Waiting there, looking for taxis, when, out of no where, some guy walks right up to my mate ans says 'What's your problem with **** ********' you know, the usual wanker. But then, about five more come over, surround us all, and there all after a fight, you can just see it, all shoutin' at you, starin' like crazy. So where all like 'Don't even know who he is', so one of the guys says 'Touch him and i'll stab you all!'

I just thought to myself, what is the mentality of some people. Who carries a knife with them!?

Having a good night (excluding the bouncers) until they started. In the end, my mates jumped in a taxi, I was on my own, and just went back home, but I swear someone was following me.

Sorry for ranting on.

Oh, and another thing, in relation to that kid that got killed by his fellow pupil. You'd think that at a bloody night club they'd have metal detectors or something. But no, nothing, and the bouncers don't even frisk you, their too busy flexing the pumped up, steroid muscles

First of all, always take out 2 forms of ID, that way if they do ask(they always do when I don't take mine) you have some ID, then if they say 'this ones fake' you have a second. I always take my MOD 90(army ID) and provisional licence.

Now for the sympathy...

I was also out last night with a few friends, then saw a school mate i hadn't seen for 3 years, he was celebrating his 18th birthday and was having a good night in the pub and also in the club untill around midnight. The guy is sound enough, although a bit shy and would fit a 'gay' stereotype, but he's a good laugh and wouldn't piss anyone off. Anyway, at around 12 a group of chavs decided to wind him up by slapping his arse and dancing around him in a mocking way. This was forced to a halt as me and my friends decided to have some fun and started slapping the chavs arses and 'grinding' them Laughing they didn't like it being done to them so started getting irritated. We decided to move away from them as it wasn't worth the hassle. They then followed the guy who's birthday it was to the toilet, so the rest of us followed them. The chavs were soon dragged out of the toilets by us and then thrown out the fire exit, we then let the bouncers know what had being happening.

Another of my friends is a bouncer, he was only told to kick people out and ask for ID, alot of them are not told to frisk or check for weapons.

A lot of clubs do check and have metal detectors, but it all depends on how good the club is, how much money it has and the type of customers. Not many people would enjoy being frisked on a night out as it makes you feel demorolised.

I don't have any forms of ID, I've never needed it. Don't have passport, don't have provisional, don't have college ID anymore. Never mind. I think we should take a leaf out of the American's book and start having bouncers at the door who aren't tits and do they job a bouncer is supposed to do. Not just stand there for 30 mins, move to next spot and repeat the process. A lot of bouncers in Blackburn do drugs, ironic how they throw people out for doing them, yet their allowed. Well, not exactly allowed but you know what I mean. Why can't people just keep themselves to themselves and get along for fuck sake. If you have something stupid to say, keep it to yourself. If you want to hit something, hit a wall or something. I don't know. Anyway, do you need to have a passport to be in the Army sooty, with traveling to world and all that?

Yeah, maybe getting frisked would be demoralizing, but there ain't nothing wrong with walking through a bit of metal. That would solve a lot of crime in clubs. I'm sure that the problem is much much worse down south as it's more busy there.

lol, problem was though Superabusa, there was I think five, or six of them, and only three off us. Plus I'd had a several vodka red bulls (How nice are they!) and a few pints so the fists of fury wouldn't have been that good. Surely just whacking a metal detector at front door would suffice? Oh, and this may seem stupid, but, does tin foil set of a metal detector?

The problem with metal detectors is: What if your wearing any metal parts (belts)? And you need to empty your wallet, your house keys... If your female... Your hairspray or whatever else they carry... It would hold ques(sp) up more then normal. It's a very thin line between enough security, and earning enough money. But then again bouncers shouldn't even be needed, if everyone just went out for a good night instead of 'binge drinking' and going out of their way to start fights. I personally am not a violent person, would much rather use restrainting techniques and shout a bouncer over then knock someone out and risk being started on by rough bouncers and possibly facing prosecution.

As for the passport, it's a strange subject.... If you are not bothered about passports ignore this part

No body in the UK NEEDS a passport, law says that to travel abroad you only need proof of identity... It's policies of airports, ports and eurotunnel etc that makes you show your passports. That is why if you have a private jet you do not need a passport to leave the country. In the army it is recomended but not a nessecity(sp) as we use 'military flights', these are flights(normally a few times a week) that only contain military personell and/or civilian MOD workers. These flights are only really for soldiers going to/and from leave in common places such as Germany, Cyprus, Iraq, Greece, Canada, Belize etc and a passport is not needed for these.

I broke my leg doing a parachute jump in Feb, snapped tibia and fibula so they put a plate in one and 3 screws in the other. Quite cool because if you rub your finger along the bone you can feel the head of the screws. I'll post my x-rays sometime when I can be arsed sorting the scanner out on the desktop.

Yes, but depends on how sensitive/how much metal. Frankfurt airport ones are VERY sensitive, but then there's a lot of US Army people going through it.

Why not ask your consultant for a little cover note to put with your passport if you intend travelling. Should prevent any hassles. Thumbs Up

I made a point of asking before getting out of hospital, and was told that yes they can be picked up - but 6 weeks later went through the detectors at Gatwick and Schiphol without a problem. Would have been amusing trying to explain it though Razz

Just show them the scar... After they have frisked you and know you have no weapons they cannot really do anything.

some implants will set off some metal detectors, it depends on the material used for the implant and the type of detector used. You can get a little yellow card from your doc that lists the metal thats in you, it prevents people strapping a combat knife to their leg and saying "I`ve got a pinned leg"
