Just bought the white 30L backpack - bigger than I thought but looks good and has good reviews and looking fwd to trying it out.

Looking at the website, the horizontal opening dry bag holdalls look really good and convenient. Then to confuse matters they have a "motorcycle dry bag" which has webbing straps to pass bungees through, but it then a standard small end opening dry bag which seems less useful.

Anyone any experience with these? Would be nice not to have to worry with panniers on a shorter trip. Would I really miss the webbing straps to pass the bungees through if I had the holdall?

This is their range - https://www.ewetsuits.com/acatalog/Dry-Boxes-dry-bags-uk.html#a717

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

I strap on a 60L LOMO holdall. It stays put on the bike and is great but is HUGE.

Yep, same. Was thinking "should have gone for the 40l". Not now though. 60l makes it easier to pack and it's more configurable when packing, you can go high, or wide with it.

Just use bungees to squash the excess.

Ive got a kriega us-20 which is great for clipping on and off easily but they are expensive... Didnt realise these lomo's are so cheap!

£11 for a 40l bag is ridiculous! Looks like sticking that on the pillion seat with my kriega on the tank is the way to go for me when i go touring up to scotland next year!

I have a 30lt and a 40lt,they are so cheap you can both like me.
If I am not camping the 30 is great for weekends and the 40 is plenty for me for longer hotel/hostel based tour.
They both have lots of tensioning straps that you can run bungees or straps under to secure them.
Last time I was in the shop I asked them why they don,t make soft panniers like Ortlieb et al.
They said that they had had lots of enquiries for this and are planning something so that would be a great option for camping

I'm well impressed with LOMO stuff. Me and a friend used the 40L bags when touring europe. Never let a drop it! Superb kit.

Kriega US30 with a Lomo 30L on top.

Served me well on a pretty miserable trip to Wales, nothing got wet.

On the BCF trip to France I just had the Kriega. Brilliant bit of kit.

Put it this way. Like ortleib, they mostly manufacture stuff for watersports. Their dry suits are very well regarded.

Someone who is making canoe/kayak dry bags which are not utterly and totally waterproof when fully immersed in water will be found out VERY quickly.

They are very good, not quite as good as ortleib but nearly half the price.

You might find the motorcycle specific kit is a tad more heavy duty. I bungee canoe drybags on my motorcycle and have done for years but I do sometimes land up with a hole where the end of the bungee has rubbed. Attaching them with purpose made tie-downs would prevent this.

The convenience of the horizontal opening on a bag is a definate factor. You can get in and remove that one thing without having to empty the whole bag.
