Used to use my bike all year round and will be again when I'm allowed back on the roads. Not got anything against fair weather bikers, if I had a car I'd be using it on days with bad weather as you get to stay drier and warmer in a car!

Generally try to push the bike to my own limits and as far I know it can do (or quite regulary a bit past the point of mechanical come back Laughing ) and want to improve my riding ability level.

Not voted for any option on the poll as I don't agree with all of any of the statements.

None of your options would suit me, I'm glad to say.

I've been riding for years, minimum 20K miles per year, in all weathers and with all types of road conditions. I've ridden cruisers, sports and trailies, as well as a couple of bog-standard commuters.

Sometimes I potter and sometimes I speed.

Sometimes the ride is about getting from A to B, and sometimes it's just for fun.

I like to think that the experience I've gained (so far) leads me to ride to the best of my ability and appropriately to the surrounding conditions.

Nothing wrong with 100+mph on occasion, but it's not necessary all of the time.

Somewhere in between them all for me.

I do ride all year (although I may just give winter a miss this time) but do now own a crotch rocket which I enjoy thrashing (especially on the track) but I'm also happy to just bimble around on it at other times.

I've been riding long enough to know where I feel comfortable pushing my limits.

I'm sure you would qualify me as a "granny rider", as I tend to ride cautiously, especially on roads I know that are dangerous. I like to go for fast rides - that's the point in having a bike, though sometimes I am just trying to get somewhere.

I also tend not to ride for necessity during winter, though will happily go for a pleasureable ride, as I am in Cardiff, and have nowhere safe to leave the bike and having a large warm car to carry my instruments around in.

None of options suit. I like to potter, I also like to see how I handle a little bit of speed. A Harley some day...No, No, NO, NO (one day I hope to be old enough to ride a BMW Very Happy )

Id say the thrid option, because my bike hasn't got that much power, or handling and it's rubbish in a straight line. But as 50mph is oftern my average up hills and into winds at the moment I could also say I potter about at low speeds.

If it was a case of having more power and better handling, I can honestly say I would be scared out of my wits when attempting to use full power and all of the handling, and if for some reason I wasn't (and was feeling confident) im sure I'd end up in hospital within half a mile.

Bah fook da poolice Wink

I choose the cane it everywhere option, as i seem incapable of going anywhere at the speedlimit. Just feels inhumanly slow. Even with my dodgy brakes at 30 i can stop within a very short distance.

Speed limits are so often ludicrous i just ride at what i think is a safe speed if im behaving, which more often then not is about 60 on 40s, and 40 in most 30s (unless schools etc), oh and 20s i do 20 because there are speed bumps which i like to wheelie off of.

None of the above.

I enjoying pushing myself and very occasionally my bike on track days.

I don't tend to ride too fast on the road these days.

Have never really ridden fast on roads with hedgerows unless following someone.

Used to filter quite fast, but have calmed down after a little incident a year ago. Still find myself tempted to do so though.

As far as enjoying riding, I mostly enjoy riding fast; so that's on the track. I chose an rs250 for fun road riding but don't want an extra 20hp, even though i could have it fairly cheaply; I got it so that I can push it a bit and still get a sense of achievement with out doing twice the speed limit

I enjoy it by being really careful and remembering not to get over confident.

I had a couple of scares up on the Cat and Fiddle road where I under estimated corners and it made me realise that I need to behave!

On the straights I do enjoy to open that throttle and enjoy the gear change sound. Very Happy

Karen, have a search for stuff about how to use the banishing point of a corner and generally 'read' the road.

It helps you tell to some degree where the road is going without having to 'think' about it to much Smile.

I'm generally cautious, but like a good thrash if I'm in the mood - and that includes attacking the bends hard.

One thing is for sure, you don't really appreciate it or realise the full value to you of being able ride your bike no matter how you choose to ride it, until the ability to do so is suddenly taken away from you. Sad

Hmmmmmm, I take that back. I have a mate whose Harley I wouldn't mind a go on.

But that's pretty unlikely to happen Shocked

Some days I'm happy to just potter.

Some days I'm out for a thrash.

Some days it all comes together and some days it doesn't.

I just do what I feel like. Thumbs Up

None of the above for me. I like to vary my riding to suit my mood/road/conditions/speed limits/tiredness/Police presence/etc.

I think if you consider yourself to be a rider like number three on the list all the time then you aren't going to live for very long.

Still learning mate, but I aint nervous anymore. Been commuting daily to work for a bit now.

Cautious at times, not cautious enough at others. Treat bends with respect most of the time, but still have the odd "Oh my god, am I going to get round at this speed... yes!" moment.

Always learning, will be tearing around, terrorisng the local population in no time.

Recovered from the stag night? How's Clangers wee red nose? Very Happy

Have to disagree.

Some ride their bikes, others ride and learn.

You'll find the former under a hedge, in an ambulance, or in the obituaries.

The latter are around you.
