Well done mate, bet your well pleased Very Happy

Don't worry about a bit of water get out there and have a play. Best way to learn to ride is in the wet. It will show up your faults and you'll learn throttle and break control.

Strange but true fact...

Bikes do not mond the wet..

MTFU and just ride it..... Will actually be good for you to be able to ride in the wet. You get a far better feel for the bike, than in the dry. Thumbs Up

I see where your coming from but I agree with OP, first few times if your a little nervous then get out in the dry,
Find the biting points and get a good feel for the bike then add the wet,
Dropping a new bike will really dent confidence as another thread suggests,
So if the OP feels better waiting Id holy agree.

What works for me in the wet as a relatively new "big bike" rider is rely more on engine braking, double stopping distances (or triple if it's really bad) and barely touch the back brake at all. More gentle use of the throttle, touch more counter steer and less lean on corners.

I'm being especially careful at the moment as my front tyre is approaching the legal minimum tread depth limit, it's getting changed in a couple of weeks along with the 6K service (it's overdue: odo currently just under 6.3K).

Did you manage to get out yesterday (if the weather was good where you were)? I haven't been able to ride for the last couple of months and again, soon as I can, awful weather! Good day yesterday though.

I passed my test in December and that didn't stop me riding on every nice-ish day.

Congrats.

Passed my test a couple of weeks ago and went and bought a Fazer - had to ride it home from Essex and over the QE2 bridge in the pissing rain so had to learn the bike as best I could and as quickly as I could.

Reminds me of when I bought my YBR the day after my CBT and had to ride it through the Blackwall tunnel - never let it be said I don't enjoy a challenge. Smile

Anyway I digress, get out there and enjoy the bike, just take it easy if it's wet until you're comfortable I reckon.
