Currently ploughing through crazy cat lady Andre Norton on the Gutenberg SF bookshelf. It's such a relief to read a female voice after all the "Storm Saxon of the Space Patrol" patriarchal guff. So much more enlightened and intersectional and...

I'm tempted to start in on these, but might wait until the price comes down on Kindle a bit, lol. Fancy something that keeps me going for a while. I quite enjoyed what I've seen of the series so far (up to about part 6, I think). But you always get more out of a book - assuming you have a decent imagination! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Got about half way through the Aleister Crowley one, but I will come back to it.
Whizzed through "Mafia Boss Sam Giancana: The Rise and Fall...", by Susan McNicoll. Haven't read a great deal about the Chicago Mob, mostly the N.Y. crews so far.
Finished the Timothy Leary biography.
Now reading Aldous Huxley's "The Doors of Perception".
And been on a bit of a spree (it's ok, the bank's paying for it ).
Lined up:
"Up and Down With The Rolling Stones", by Tony Sanchez. A controversial account (as any good book about the Stones should be), I first read this, oh, must have been twenty years ago.
"Tripping With Jim Morrison & Other Friends", by Michael Lawrence. Cos you can't get "No One Here Gets Out Alive" on Kindle , and the next best thing was a bit too pricey.
"The Age of Great Dreams: America in the 1960s", by David Farber. Sounds like an interesting overview of an interesting time.
"What's Next?: Even Scientists Can't Predict The Future; Or Can They?", by Jim Al Khalili, my current favourite popular scientist.
"A New History of Western Philosophy", by Anthony Kenny. Ok, a bit deep perhaps, but I've wanted to tackle this subject for many years, but just never really knew where to start, so I guess this'll be as good a place as any. Take it in small chunks chickenstrip, ok? This one promises to cover from Aristotle to Nietzsche and beyond, so I suppose it'll just outline each one's ideas, but that should be enough for now.
Well, I got a LOT of time on my hands ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I'm currently reading Lone Rider by Elspeth Beard, a book about a young woman who rode her BMW R60/6 around the world. It's an entertaining read so far though a bit heavy in places, I could do without all the emotion and woman stuff ____________________ 1994 CB250, 1984 CBX250RS-E, 1989 K100RS, 1995 TRX850, 2016 Z250SL |

Read it a month ago, but have been referring to it regularly since.
Coupled with meditation, the most influential book I've read (to be fair, only read 5 books a year). Using it every day. Thanks to BCF'er who recommended it!

Also, dipping into Meditations - Marcus Aurelius. Interesting how valid / relevant his thoughts / observations are nearly 2k years on.
