Had some worrying news, turns out my step dad who rides around on a Honda Hornet got spat off after a high side on his way into work yesterday morning.
Thankfully he is ok (just a bit achy and shaken) and the bike has fairly minimal damage which is a relief as he hasn't had it /all/ that long. However as you can imagine this has knocked his confidence a bit, he is unsure whether to sell up and go for a smaller CC bike or stick with it.
Either way I said I'd pick the 'forums' brains tonight for him as the guilty culprit in the incident are the tyres Sad (had some Michelins on and it's been slatting it down a fair bit the last few days).
So.....which do you mightily clever guys think would be the best tyres to put on and what kind of cost would he be looking at?
He mostly uses it for just commuting his shift pattern differs from my mothers.

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up.

Being a big fan of Bridgestone tyres, and I know how well they grip in the wet (Well my BT45's do)

Bridgestone recommend BT-012SS tyres for the Hornet, they say they have good grip in the wet and dry.

They shouldn't cost more than £180 for the pair Smile.

I've got bridgestone BT010's on my hornet, feels much better than the stock 56's it had when i picked it up.
I paid £212 fully fitted to the bike.
Best wishes to you step dad.

I;d go with what Jay said BT010's, the same tyres I plan to get for the GSXR eventually, although I haven't had any problems with my AV50's. Never heard a bad word against 010's, tell him to go for either of those, AV50's will probably last longer though.
