Hope you find your other glove....

What might have been.....

Edit: Hang on.....was it only one glove he wore? Anyone else one old enough to remember?

From the youtube links I see he was touring until recently.

Looks quite fit and surely no hair dye Wink

Alvin Stardust was his second showbiz persona and he was well into his 30s when doing the well known hits in the 70s.

I am and he wore both gloves, but jewellery (like massive rings) on the outside of them, which was a bit odd.

Even so, good bloke, never seemed to take himself too seriously, which in the Glam Rock era, was surely a good thing Thumbs Up

Let us not forget his contribution to road safety in the 70s.

I met him at Denby Pottery in 1995. He talked to our entire class and was a funny guy as far as I remember. He didn't molest any of us.

How anyone could confuse Alvin Stardust with Michael Jackson is beyond me.

Alvin was far darker skinned and wore two gloves.

Like a lot of pop especially glam rock in that period - always slightly tongue in cheek - more obvious with hindsight.

Mr Borg has provided proof that he did only wear one glove.

However, Sid wonders, did he only have one wig?

saw him at butlins many years ago, he really took the mick out of himself, going off stage then coming back on with a progressively larger quiff, never taking himself too seriously, sadly missed act of my youth.
