I joined this forum after committing to the sale and I'm now wondering if I did the right thing. Question Question

Doubt about the scooter, or did you read a Teflon-Mike post?

It's a PCX, there are approximately seventy kajillion of them around. If I were stuck on a 125 for 2 years, and using it primarily for commuting, I might have one.

Are you missing a zero or two from your title? 1200 miles is zilch. To be fair 12,000 miles is nothing either.

And if it's done 120,000 miles I'll eat my helmet.

I had a 2012 for 2 years and did about 7k on it. Never missed a beat, they're solid bikes and the huge number of them on the road should be testament enough if you have doubts about their quality/reliability.

I had no idea about the issues with the 2010 model, was never mentioned on the forums I visited prior to getting mine.

When I was in the Dealer buying my MSX, the salesman was saying that they cant get the new 2014 model PCX in fast enough, and that if he had to commute on 2 wheels in winter, it would definately be on the PCX

Agreed. I felt that I was always in the wrong gear. Might as well let the variator fret about it.

I had a go at one while picking 125's and was surprised how quick and easy to ride it was, did close to 70 on the A1, non M.
What is it that concerns you? I'd consider it the better choice for scoots. Would get one for the Ms if I could afford it.

Wife's got one and it's brilliant. Loads of fun for a 125, reliable, plenty of storage space and excellent for short commutes.

I know someone that has just swapped a low mileage 2011 ER6F for a new Honda PCX125 with about £250 worth of accessories and they really like it. It's pretty quiet, solid and stable considering the wheel sizes, and although all spent at a true 63mph, it's smooth unlike a tuned 2T twist n go, and apparently 130mpg is not un-likely too.

Having had a quick look over it, they do seem to be better finished than other budget Honda options like the dreaded CBF125 or even the CBR.

Just to add my bit to this, I disagree on owning a 125cc twist and go if your bike is just a bit of fun or even a part time commuter. I'll keep the KMX instead unless someone puts me on a 125cc auto that could twist my arm.

It is nice to come home from a ride not stinking of two stroke though, and feel socially acceptable in town centres without being labelled a gross polluter! Laughing

I'm happier now with getting the PCX. No mistake with the 1200 miles on the clock. Dealer has checked and it's genuine. Thanks for all the comments.

I'd read that not much good in the wet. As I've only a short commute and intend to take the car if it's really wet I don't think that will affect me much. Have had the PCX a couple of weeks now and extremely pleased with it. Laughing

Glad your liking it PCX 14. How is it treating you now that it's getting a bit colder out there?

Take it a bit steadier, be more mindful than usual of ironworks (especially smooth ones) and you should be fine. I don't have a PCX but I have been riding a scooter in whatever conditions the local weather has thrown at me, for a few months now. On some of the dodgier roads round my way, it can feel a touch skittish in the wet, requiring a bit of a speed reduction. Accidentally straying onto a smooth cover of some sort in the dark, whilst braking, resulted in a heart stopping moment but thankfully it was lesson learnt, with no harm done. The strong wind a few days back was not fun though. Also hoping not to encounter much ice come winter.
