Anyone know where to get your hands on a copy of solidworks, want to try it for a bit before thinking about buying it.

3D 2D stuff is fine on photoshop, I'm a photographer but have a little project i need to design and think solid works would help with future projects.

Any reason why you want Solidworks?

have you tried the free alternatives?

SketchUp or AutoCAD (a lot of people qualify to get this free).

For playing with ideas MoI 3D is brilliant, and much cheaper than SolidWorks. Wonderful interface. I used TurboCAD 3D for years, never really got used to it, was making useful drawings with MoI 3D in half an hour. Great forum, responsible and tremendously helpful developer.

Really good considering it's free! I'm well impressed. Thumbs Up

Try AutoCAD if you can get it free (Student, Army, etc) has a lot more features and still easy to use.

I've actually got AutoCAD (I'm a cad tech) but I've never used the 3D side of things.

I think I will have a dabble at some point!
