Ok so I have a Derbi Senda with an 80cc bore on it and for some reason which I cannot figure out is my starter is not getting enough power to start the bike, I'm not sure if its the battery or something more internal but when I connect battery charger using jump leads to the battery bike starts first time.

Also with the starter I get a very weak looking spark from the spark plug.

Should I just try get a new battery first?

How long have you had the bike? Has it been used everyday or left to sit for a while?

I would say get a new battery. If your having flat battery problems then with a new battery it rules one thing out.

In the past I used to try charging battery over night but would end up later having to push start the bike to get back home. For the sake of about £30 it's not worth pissing about.

Make sure the new battery is fully charged and then start bike. With bike running give it some revs and voltage should jump to 14-15 volts.

Thanks for the advice Smile I'v had the bike for about 6 months now back when it was 50cc it would never start with starter as the cylinder was gone so I was used to bump starting as it only took a little push.
