Well it was there at 06:30 in the morning but by 11:00 it had gone. In the font garden protected by a metal railing and gates. Had been my pride and joy for 17 years until it broke down last Friday. So I left it there, in the front garden just by the front door. We are in a cul-de-sac off a cul-de-sac and yet no one saw it go.

My WASHING MACHINE...................... Hotpoint one too. Thieving little buggers.

Stolen Liverpool Area

What? . . . An entire Area? One can but live in hope . . .
That's a bit of a jump from car wheels!

Seriously, though, you could try contacting your home insurers about it,
but as it wasn't chained-up I'm not sure that it'll wash with them.

Be positive. Maybe someone just took it for a spin!

Er.

We leave things outside if we want rid of them. Romanian tat collectors will take scrap iron and convert it into gold teeth.

IMO, the problem with leaving junk outside for collection (although a great idea in principle) is that it ('junk') pretty much becomes fair game for anyone passing by. I have seen a Transit pickup drive by several times within an hour or two, where the guys are obviously building up a picture of the area. On the third go, the Transit stopped a few houses down, and a kid popped out and grabbed a garden chair and chucked it in the back of the pickup. I've seen it several times (not the same garden chair!), over the summer when I was tinkering (sic) about outside the house. Opportunist, I'd say, rather than 'service'.

I once saw a group of filipinos do something similar with a goat, back on the Isle of Man. Laughing

The island is full of them for one thing, so you can generally tell them apart from other Asian races, of which there are very few of over there.

It's a similar thing with Europeans, each nations people will have a certain look about them that makes them identifiable. Of course, it's a generalisation and not exactly bulletproof but, a lot of Germans look German, Italians look Italian, English look English and so on.
