Hello,
I have a small problem I was wondering if I could get some advice out of you lot.
I broughtom Manchester recently, its my first bike so Im stoked aprilia rs 125 '03 ( incase your intrested Wink )
But i live in the southwest and not having passed my CBT couldnt bring it back with me so I hire a company called headstocks to delivery it, they are fairly cheap and offer a time garanteed service ...Result.
Or so I thought they originally said theuy would pick it up last friday and deliver this gone Monday , But on Sunday they phoned and said they couldnt pick up until Tuesday (22nd July) and that the bike would be deliverd to me today (28th July) fairplay I thought I mean at least the phoned and explained.
But today the Email me this-

I have tried ringing on the mobile number we have but have had no luck
contacting you. We have a problem with delivery today, our van that is
coming to you today has taken all night to crawl back from Scotland, it wont
go over 50mph, its gone to Mercedes to get a new pipe fitted to the turbo
today so your bike will be with you tomorrow (thursday) between 5 - 8pm, I
am vey sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Any ideas what I should do can I claim against them ? how would I do this and what kind of prices are Rs Aprilias reaching on the spares market in Scotland ???? Sad ( Nooo musn't think like that .... Karma )

Sorry to bother you all with this its just my inetiation into the biking world dont seem tgo be going to well it will get better right ????....

If they gave you a time guarantee surely you won't have to pay them, or should at least give you a heavy discount.

No matter what happened to the van thats not your fault, they guaranteed your bike would be there by xxx and it wasn't therefore when they charge you if they don't discount you tell them where to go.

If you haven't paid for it yet, then wait till they do deliver the bike, when they ask for the ££ then only give them half or something and complain of not sticking to deadlines etc.

If I paid a courier to deliver something to me by a set date, and it didn't turn up, then they'd be fooked if I'd pay the full amount. Why pay for guaranteed delivery if it doesnt' turn up on time?

you need to read the terms and conditions (which you have implicitly accepted). It will almost certainly have a clause about "events beyond our control" . Sometimes shit happens, and you just have to deal with it. At least the outfit are doing their best to keep you informed.
