hello again everybody, just a quick question before i dig into the old pockets, sell the NSR Sad and buy an R6 Smile

can anybody tell me any major service intervals that i need to look out for??

i've bought a copy of full Yam service guide for the R6 and i'm sat here looking at the service intervals but that only goes upto 20,000 miles then says to go back to 4,000 thereafter and repeat, i've looked in all the over sections and so far aint found any info yet

the only major service i am aware of at the moment is that the valves need to be reshimmed after 24,000 which sounds very expensive to me....

any help would be wonderful

cheers Thumbs Up Very Happy

Have an ask on R6 Message Net as they have a UK section and know more about the bikes. Are you planning on doing the servicing yourself or getting a dealer to do it? If you're getting the dealer to do it they'll be able to tell you how often it is meant to be done, and it has details of it in the service book which goes with the bike. If you're doing it yourself it is as and when you can do it and it needs doing, so for oil changing about every 4,000 miles, brakes bleeding about every 8,000, stuff like balancing the carb and changing the spark plugs also about 8,000 miles, and stuff like brake pads as and when needed.

You'll be able to get more info on doing it yourself if you ask for it, but if you're not sure of how often stuff needs doing I would think you'll be better off getting a shop to do it. Confused

Thumbs Up
