Right, wise old BCF!

I'm after an ADSL WiFi router.

My BT HomeHub 3 is a pile of shit. Recommended for 'up to 4 devices'. Problem is, there three people in my house.

1 iPhone
2 Blackberries
3 Android phones
6 laptops (work/personal)
1 PC

So whilst they are not all on simultaneously, I think the WiFi just cant cope.

If I call BT up for a HomeHub 4, I reckon they'll want to charge me. so I'd rather just buy something decent!

Back in my days of installing ADSL lines for SoHo/SMEs we pushed DrakTek. But they're not the cheapest.

Any recommendations?

Fritzbox 3390

Also not the cheapest, but very good. They make models which integrate DECT telephony plus answering machine too.

Will cope with VDSL (fibre to the cabinet) when it arrives as well, without needing an extra modem "brick".

I've got over 20 devices permenantly connected (computers, pads, phones, TVs, printers) and it has a seperate guest wireless network as well, which I give friends access to when they visit. It's not unusual to have 40+, most of which are wireless.

Phone up BT and tell them youre leaving unless you get a Homehub 5.

the HH3 is 2.4ghz only, and the 5 is dual band.

Any dual band router will have an improvement, but only the homehub 5 will be free

I've got one of these as well. Top Notch and worth every penny.
