So either the sensor or the dash is kaput. Fuel guage just flashes at me as being empty even with the tank overfilled.
When I short the fuel sensor cables in the back of the dash the gauge spikes all the way to full then goes back to flashing, almost like it's doing a self test. I've checked the wiring all the way through the bike with a multi meter & the connections are good.
Would this indicate a duff dashboard or sender? Removing the tank is an epic pain in the dick that requires dissasembly of the entire rear of the scooter so I'd ideally like to avoid this if theres any way of further testing the thing.
Bike is an odd one. It says under the seat it's a Baotian BT49QT-20, however has the dash and two stroke engine off the BT49QT-28C Falcon, and came with manuals for the four stroke BT49QT-20BB. 2011 model chinese tat, I doubt it's very relevant to the problem!
I'm guessing it's some sort of halfway step built out of leftovers at the factory
Thanks in advance ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.
