Only do this if you can be certain that you can convince the Uplay browser that you have an Indian IP address.

Found this on Hot UK Deals. I'm currently downloading my copy of Unity Gold (Game + Season Pass) which cost me 3,500 Rupee, or £36.19. The game by itself is the equivalent of £18-19.

The same thing on Amazon is £64.99.

I don't normally bother with seasons passes, but since it's free I thought I might as well.

Enjoy.

Pity it's crap and buggy as hell, though.

All games are now though. The public are the beta testers. They'll have it patched soon enough!

Downloaded it last night.
Played it for 10mins.
It's a total clusterfuck.

I don't profess to know a lot about games development, but you get teething issues with any major launch.

Anyway, I probably shouldn't have tailored this to Assassins Creed, that's just what it was under on Hot UK Deals. Any game on the Origin store can be bought this way, so Far Cry, Titanfall, Need for Speed or Battlefield can be purchased the same way.

Stopped really bothering with triple A titles for exactly this reason. £40 for a buggy as fuck alpha game? By the time they patch it, you'll have probably moved onto something else.

In saying that, looking at the masses of "early access" indie titles on Steam that will probably never be properly finished is pretty depressing.

Takedown:Red Sabre springs to mind as to how publishers operate. Abandoned less than a year after release, still buggy as fuck. But it's ok, they have your cash now. Rolling Eyes

Thank god that some devs care enough to do the job properly before release. Torchlight 2 for example.

It's a bit more than "teething troubles".

You know what, I can't even comment on the game because at some point between the deal being posted and now, Ubisoft have clocked on to it and the codes are locked to region.

Tried them all. Half don't have Indian servers and the ones that do want you to pay.

Le sigh.

i installed it. played it for 10 minutes and just about cried.
Then downloaded the AMD beta drivers which made it ten times better with my crossfire setup. Then the 800mb patch came out and seem to clear a lot of issues up. Played it fro about 12 hours now and really got into it.

Every game that is released is buggy now.

What is wrong with you people?

Have you become so used to playing games that are falling apart that you consider this clusterfuck "buggy" ?

A buggy bit of software is:-
If you do x then y then z the game crashes

AC:Unity is just a bunch of poorly tested code.
It should have never been released in that state, fuck... I would say they went from Alpha to Release.

I'll let you know when I get my first crash. Shouldn't be long as my GPU is underclocked and restricted because I still haven't sorted my power supply issues...

Seems ok so far though. Impressed with the graphics actually, can't wait to turn up the settings a bit.

Confirm unplayable. Had a few minor issues such as a cutscene trigger not appearing and my companion getting stuck in the floor, but enjoyed playing last night.

Then today, come back to it to find it hasn't saved. Found out there's a frig to force it to save, but involves dicking about with installing crap over the top a game which is already barely functional.

Guess I'll wait for Ubisoft to update it. Then I can get back to the "To open this chest, connect to Uplay!" or "To open this chest, connect to your iPhone companion app!" Evil or Very Mad

...But apart from that, good game.

Seems to be the trend now.. Release half a game that has the bare basics for £40-£50 and then release the DLC which is the other half of the game for another £40... Sad

I just (yesterday, still downloading it atm) bought Dragon Age Inquisition for around £16.
Normally I'd be a dirty pirate Embarassed but it could be months *grumble*.

https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dragon-age-inquisition-for-pc-origin-uplay-ukraine-16-27-2056836

All I can say is it was much easier to do it through the android app (Hola) than trying to get the Hola plug-in on Chrome to work. It was also easier to add your CC details to uplay *big grumble*, rather than to input them manually on Ukraine webby. Details can, and were deleted again after. I hate storing card details online.

This right here is exactly the sort of crap that's pushed me away from gaming on all but the most casual level. Expensive, bloated games that don't run right and require 100MB+ patches one after another to try and fix on consoles that are even worse on PC. No such thing as a casual console game any more is there really, unless you dig out pre-X360/PS3 stuff where it had to be spot on because auto-updates weren't really a thing then.

Not to mention that game control methods are horrendously complex now. It's telling when you're well over a third into the game and you still get new tutorials popping up teaching you how to do another one of a hundred things, most of which you don't need anyway.

I dunno, I used to love gaming. But it's way too complex for me now. I prefer just doing the odd bit of retro stuff where you can play for 30 minutes and enjoy yourself, not spend hours fiddling with configurations, patching/rudimentarily debugging a broken game to work on your system or learning controls before you can even play, or being told "oh, the first ten hours of the story are terrible." Lol. Very Happy
