Yes I'm angry at pain.
I don't like pain either, it hurts too much, why can't we have warning lights instead? I mean come on God it's not rocket science.

Excellent idea. And a built-in self-test/diagnostic system while you're at it.

My record is 3 days cleaning a car. Numberplates off, wheels off, engine bay took a day on its own. Laughing

Detailing is not a pursuit of the mentally well. Thumbs Up But daaaaaaaaamn it's very satisfying in a perverse kind of way.
I've had my bike sat in my conservatory all this week and decided two nights ago at 11pm that it needed a quick wipe
over, I was out there until 2am cleaning by torchlight. Laughing

Detailing - You either get it, or you're normal.

They don't get any of my money mate. I don't want them here at all so why would I encourage that by paying them
to spoil my paintwork with harsh truck cleaning products and graffiti removal jet lances literally designed to remove
paint?? I'd rather do it myself, properly. Lately I've noticed an annoying tendency for dealers to insist on washing the car
whenever it goes in for anything, same at Fowlers with the bike. Not on my watch. I have to make it very clear that them
cleaning the car or bike will displease me greatly ultimately resulting in a loss of my future custom. I leave specific
instructions whenever they go in for main dealer stuff to leave the dirt where it is, thank you. I leave a note in the car too
just in case the mechanics are a bit quiet and wrote DO NOT WASH! on some detailing tape and stuck it to my petrol tank
last time it was in Fowlers for a service. They won't take the care I will so they can just leave it be, thanks all the same.
Especially as I get a perverse satisfaction from cleaning to such an extent anyway. Like I said, detailing is not a pursuit
of normally functioning humans.

I have never, ever cleaned my car barring one I was selling and took through an automatic car wash (which took off the aerial and dinged it along the side, ubggre it), and my first car, by hand, once.

Some years ago I got all enthusiastic and bought 5l of caranuba wax cleaning/polishing liquid. Then the enthusiasm left me, and it sits on a shelf in the workshop (the fluid, that is). I am unsure what to do with it.

Would you use sandpaper, or emery cloth?

I genuinely drive around in the rain then give it a wipe down Smile The odd thing is it rains less than Hollywood tells us, so it gets quite filthy between rain showers and wipe downs.

Makes me laugh that my car has a warning notice to ensure auto wipers are switched off before entering an automatic car wash.

I know they have to tell you the coffee is hot and all that sh1t but DUH!

It doesn't automatically change radio stations when Jeremy Vine comes on.

Other than that, no. I don't think it trusts me though. I might call it Hal. Shifty

If you ask Alexa to "open the pod bay doors" it replies: "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that. I'm not Hal and we're not in space." Laughing

What I like about Alexa is that you don't have to say "please".

Siri was fun for about five minutes...

[ME] "Mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all"
[Siri] "You're the fairest"

[ME asking again to show someone] "Mirror mirror..."
[Siri] "What is this Snow White"

Laughing
