The other type of Ebayer that annoys me are bike strippers. Take a rare old bike, buy it from some dreamer on Facebook for £200 or something. Can't fix it or won't. Just strip it down. Put the 40 year old rusty old exhaust system on Ebay for £160! What? No thanks - would much rather take out the welder and rebuild the exhaust with new bits of pipe.

As long as there are people willing to spend silly money on crappy old bits it is going to happen.

I once stripped down a Virago 750 that a mate crashed. Other than the engine the part (or parts, can't remember if it was 1 or 2) that went for the most was the chrome plated electric horn. It went for something in excess of £100 if I remember rightly. Stupid but whose going to turn down that sort of profit.

I was looking for a R/H faring panel for my bike after a drop last night.

Listing came up, for a full set in 'pristine' condition.

Except at the very very bottom of the wafflle, 'over-spray' on one panel which "should rub off" and one of the mounting points has snapped off. Hardly fucking pristine.

Got to go to Stoke Mandeville hospital today to get my skin grafts looked at.

I hate hospitals.

Should I wear my 'Jim fixed it for me' T shirt? Whistle

No. Got badly burnt (boiled) in a boiler explosion about 20 years ago. 80% skin grafts from the waist down and now they are failing.

C'est la vie.

Bexley Council.

They have completely closed the 'Eastern Way' to repair/update the central reservation.

It's a dual carriageway in both directions, so why can't they just shut lane 2 in both directions and actually not cause a nightmare traffic situation by diverting HGVs down completely inappropriate streets (which themselves are half dug up for Crossrail!)

Anyone would have thought they didn't look at the ongoing road works in the immediate area and planned accordingly. I suspect they got their planning skill from the City of London Corporation. Digging up Cannon Street for close to a third of the year! Cunts!

Jeez Polarbear.
Now you made me wonder about your ungrafted 20%.

One does hope that the PB manparts were included in that section.

This brings up so many unanswered questions Thinking

High pressure boiler? You're lucky to even be alive.
I've been growing extra skin for 40 plus years now in case I ever need grafts. Embarassed

Bloody hell Polarbear. How does a skin graft fail after such a long time? Do they slide down?

Grinds my gears?
People driving 'road coloured' cars at night without lights on. I counted 8 cars like that within 2 miles of each other. Lethal.

Both gym related:

1. Scruffs who drink directly from the water taps instead of filling their bottles. People don't want your saliva in their water. Cunts.

2. People who come over and turn the second tap on while you're filling a bottle, knowing full well the water pressure is crap, and slows both of you down.

We were flashing up a high pressure boiler after refit when a pipe failed. luckily it was only about 10 bar when it failed (if it had been full pressure, 60 bar I would have been lobstered). Unluckily it was six feet away from me and dumped about 4 tonnes of water/saturated steam over the engineroom and me.

They have got more and more fragile over time and start cracking. They do things differently now but back then they shaved the skin back to decent flesh, then shave the layers of skin grafts and stapled, yes stapled, them in place. I was on Ketamine for the pain while they stapled away Sick

Yes, my man parts were boiled. Laughing

While I was in the burns unit I had to lie on a plastic sheet naked with no blankets on. The nurses used to flash me a bit of leg or breast and whisper rude things in my ear to try and make me get a hard on which was absolute agony. They were lovely but real sadists. When I had to have the staples out the lass that did it pulled the first one out and after they pulled me off the ceiling said 'That wasn't too bad was it, only 167 more to go.'

I never complained simply because the bloke in the next bed had lost both legs when he put one of those big pneumatic road drills through a high voltage cable.

There's always someone worse off than you. Thumbs Up

Oh yes. You will understand that I had the same nurses every day for months while I was in hospital. At the risk of sounding racist, the 3 that looked after me were all British, highly trained and skilled specialists and 20+ years on we are still in contact. They became friends and friends can be bastards Laughing . This was well before PC crap as well. They kept me sane.

Interesting to hear! Mine still seem to be ok after 28 years. My grafts were done by the army Brigadier who did Simon Weston's.
I took most of my staples out myself, in a few sessions (mostly chest) - using a standard office staple remover Laughing
Sounds like you got it rather worse than me though PB. My burns were only 15% at 3rd degree (chest, neck, side of face, melted an ear).

Worst pain for me was due to the donor sites - all over my legs. I'll never forget the agony of the first time I tried to stand up, and all the blood rushed to my legs, making them feel like they were going to explode. And the dressing-changing sessions were an agony too, where the dressings had stuck.

Crikey pb, you gotta be pretty tough to survive that sort of trauma to the body. Boiling water is dreadful, but super heated water/ steam doesn’t require much of an imagination to feel the agony.
Chin up fella.
