I sometimes have several days when I get no calls or messages.
Its quiet as fuck.
But very peaceful.
Albeit a little lonely from time to time.
Just as well I don't mind my own company.

Lately though, every other bastard wants to call or text me all the time.
I am back to looking at the phone and going "ugh"

Cnuts who feel its perfectly legitimate to do 'to-camera' vlogs whilst driving.

This is especially significunt for tv shows (where the nonsense was born).

It encourages clogging by vlogging and it defo is not in line with road safety initiatives.

Stop it!

Old style cats eyes.
Those metal cats eyes that are as big as a cast iron sewing machine. Better still, old style cats eyes, without eyes in them, on a bend on a rural road in the middle of nowhere.
My fault obviously but my god my arse winked when I saw it coming up. I was cranked right over and gunning it. It was one of those slow motion things where there's nothing you can do but live it out.
Hit it, felt a tap in the handlebars and nothing more!! No wheel shift to one side, nothing. Honestly expected to go through a hedge but nope.
Those old cats eyes need removing!

A senior member of staff sent an email out yesterday describing me as 'unhelpful' and 'misleading'.

I could live with 'Argumentative', 'disruptive' and 'arrogant' but 'unhelpful' and 'misleading'?

(I'm not concerned, the same person sent out an email saying I was 'inflamatory' and 'ill-informed' and then got seriously rebuked by an even more senior member of staff who explained I'd paraphrased his words at his request, but it's the principle.)

Tried. Couldn't. Gave up.

Put it this way: it's like trying to explain why I don't like being stabbed in the eye with a sharp knife.

Ordered a curry, asked for no corriander.

First mouthful I'm hit with corriander, now everything tastes of soap.

There's a theory about coriander that some people taste soap, some taste lemon.
I use ground coriander in curries, but it's very different. I'm not keen on fresh coriander leaf (cilantro), as my taste tends towards the soap side.

Ground coriander is completely different from fresh coriander...
I like to throw fresh coriander in - lots of it at the very last moment. It's one of those things that degrades with heat.

Primary base: ground (dried) spices fried in oil.
Secondary: cooked garlic, ginger, onion and tomato.
Tertiary: the actual food, i.e. the already-well-cooked beans/pulses/meat/vegetables/cheese.
Quaternary: coriander and salt (don't let the coriander cook!)

That's basically the entire secret of Indian cooking. Except for the fried stuff.

Forgot that I had agreed to meet my sister in law at her brother's/my ex's today, so now my afternoon is fucked Mad

Mind you, its pretty shite weather. I was thinking about seeing if the Bum in the Mud has day tickets, but given that its a bit blowy in Finchley this morning, I'm assuming its going to be considerably more blowy in Mersea Island Laughing

I was hoping to get away with no more visits until I have to waste half a day attending a social work assessment later in the week (when I could be doing something more interesting, like earning money) Mad Mad

AND he lives just inside the ULEZ zone so I have to find somewhere to park up on the other side of it and walk for a whole five minutes Laughing Laughing

Edit: okay it wasn't that bad. We had a nice girlie chat while the male contingent mostly slept. Laughing

And the bike parking is an easy walk through a really nice churchyard with ancient graves. Cool

And on top of that, I've discovered some wrinkles I am very annoyed to have acquired.

What used to be cheeky dimples now are crepey wrinkles.
I am not best pleased.
Who put those there? Shocked Mad Mad

My sister, who is 2 years younger, looks ancient to me (despite her funky coloured hair), and it was these particular wrinkles which I looked at and thought Thank God I don't have those, they're so ageing.

But it turns out ... I do.
Fuck.

When I'm out with my granddaughter ppl always assume I'm her dad, which is nice I suppose Smile

Today I was a bit sad with the weather:

I was going Albert Embankment towards the funny bus station at Vauxhall and there's a big bike rank outside Metropolis.

All of the bikes parked there blown over by the wind.

All of them Sad

Very sad.

Shocked
I know exactly where you mean.
Shocked

That was some wind.
I've been trying to pin down Oxford bike covers all bloody day.
Bastard things, fill them with wind, they could drag you halfway across lanes of oncoming traffic.

Yes, I've come back to find the cover on the turd scooter torn to shreds just from flapping about on the sharp bits (most of the plastic is off while I work on the engine etc.)

<sigh> another trip to PoundLand then Sad

We call it LBM (Loose Bowel Movement) I actually don't mind it, but I feel rather hungry after a good sluice out. Laughing

Stupid pigeons keep flying into the kitchen window. If I don't hear the thump I can tell anyway because they leave their outline as a white grease/dust mark on the glass.
