Mrs grr worked from home today. She only goes into her office about twice a week. We were sat having a pint
at 11.10 this morning after a 2 hour dog walk, wanted to get Gracie out for a walk before it was too hot... Then beer etc happened...

Wasps.

Walking my mutt and the neighbour's mutt tonight (we have him for 10 days whilst they are away...), the two hoon down an embankment chasing a stick. Seconds later they hoon back up again surrounded by angry wasps. I get stung, my pooch gets stung but the neighbour's dog doesn't as he has the common sense to jump in the canal.

The dog is fine now, but I have a sting under one arm and a sting up my shorts, both of which are smarting.

Stings: Annoint with: Bicarbonate for Bee[1], Vinegar for Vasps.

[1] Don't pull the sting out, scrape it across and from your skin with a pen-knife, long fingernail, piece of card or WHY, to prevent more venom being squirted in when you squeeze it. Vaspeth do not leave their stings stuck in you.

Thank you for the advice. These were wasps, so no sting left in. I've gone for lemon juice and it is doing the trick...

Is this some way of you telling us you slept naked on a hammock in the garden last night?

Shocked

VM can be a proper bunch of c*nts. I junked then in favour of TalkTalk (marginally better) about 18 months ago.

After a couple of failed attempts they eventually matched the TalkTalk deal but really, why? Why have you been such utter pricks up til the leave point?? Shove it up your arse..!

TalkTalk would be useless for my needs. Are you aware they block most remote support software packages such as Teamviewer, Splashtop, Logmein at ISP level? The claims of just switching off "home safe" in the website account control panel have had mixed results, as have changing client DNS addresses. They seem to filter all DNS ranges at ISP firewall level.

Run via VPN, seems the way to go to combat such silliness Sad

Blocked for good reason, however you can just turn it off with a phone call... It's a DNS dropping service, we do it as well. Literally one call to turn off inspection and it's gravy.

What,no. I cant sprechen ze Germanz at all.
Although my daughter does still call me "Mutter" ("Moot" for short) from the year of German she learned in high school.

I can say scheissenhausen and Schweinhund Englander.
Possibly also "schnitzel, bitte"

Swearing, eating, and saying please and thankyou, its all you need to know.

Don't forget "ein Bier für mich und eines auch für ihn bitte"

and

"Entschuldigung, wenn Ihr Opa härter gekämpft hätte mein Deutsch wäre besser"

both essential phrases for making friends in the Fatherland...

I had a tosser of an MOT tester like that years ago with an old motor of mine.
The only thing he could 'find' was a 'split' CV joint protector.
It was obvious he'd poked a screwdriver through it as he looked most disappointed when I didn't leave it there for him to replace.

Dodgy cvnt.
