I can tell you what certainly isn't. Somebody asking somebody else for an answer without thinking about that answer for themselve's.

The boss of Halfrauds has the bonnet up & needs just 1x 5amp fuse to fix it, so I says "I got a pack of 5 here mate, that'll be £14.95. Ta".

The cost of running a Jaguar.

A 'B' Service. Oil, air, pollen and fuel filters replaced. Oil change. Full diagnostic and the usual checks.
3 new wheel nuts (they swell or something!!!!)
2 new banana? bushes. (I'm sure he said banana) and tracking afterwards.
1 new tyre because of side wall cut.
MOT.

The price Sir, £690. Shocked

They did valet it mind and it is an indie Jag specialist so I suppose I should be glad I don't have to take it to the main dealer. That would probably require a kidney.

Jag wheel nuts are shit, we look after a fleet of Jag limos and have learnt to keep nuts in stock (they're about 12 quid a pop) they either seize on or strip threads, they absolutely must be torqued on, not done up with a windy gun.

The banana bit is the front control arms - they are banana shaped (no surprise there) and they have a bush at both ends, which wear quite heavily.

Jaguar retail price is farking stupid (about £300 a side off the top of my head) but Euros do pattern parts which are perfectly usable and make replacing the bushes uneconomic and I would question why you would need to have it tracked after replacing one, they play little or no part in the suspension geometry - that sounds like "I'm a specialist and I'm doing you a favour by being a bit cheaper, but I'm still going to charge you near Jag price for parts and do unnecessary shit".

I wouldn't bother with a Jag specialist for your car, there's nothing special about modern Jags (no offence meant) most of them are Ford derived under the skin and any decent indy workshop can deal with them - going to a 'specialist' means you only get slightly less ripped off.

Could argue back and forth on the individual costs a little I'm sure but £75 to fit a tyre?! If that included tracking then fine but that's not the same as "wheel alignment" Thinking

Bloody insurance.......... what a surprise!!!!!!!
Renewal quote £350 more than an online quote with the same company.
Ring up and they say that quote was only valid for that day (did the quote at 23.57) so was only valid for 3 minutes and not the 8 hours later when the call center opens. Still get the insurance for £290 cheaper than the renewal quote though.

Fully comp covers me to drive anyone else's car except the wife's car, that#s the only other car that I would be driving. If I got divorced I could drive it though.

You just can't make it up. The last bit about being covered to drive other vehicles, there must have been some Albanian or Nigerian who buggered it all up for everyone else.

Spending 20 mins trying to snag the throttle cable in the carb slide all wrong like a total n00b. And then looking at it again (with brain engaged this time) and did it in 30 seconds Rolling Eyes

Unfunny and smug "comedian" Nish Kumar chairing Radio 4's The News Quiz. Either Kumar has some extraordinary dirt on the Director-General or he has the most skilled agent in Entertainment. Miraculously he failed to ruin the show.

As an ex-Yamaha owner I find this funny. Yes I've been there too but you'll get the hang of it - a 2T old Yamaha will see you dismantling monthly..

Yes, I was thinking on this when I stepped away: "this is a 2-stroke from yesteryear, you are meant to be able to drop the carb out in a moment to swap in new jets when you get half way up the mountain to account for altitude..."

I live in Surrey, BTW Wink

Grinding my gears today?

(This only affects classic bikes I suspect.)

They all have "enter your reg details and we'll find your bike!" on insurance websites.

Nope, my bike doesn't exist despite it being on the DVLA database and holding the V5 in my hand Sad

"Okay, so describe your bike..."

Nope, most of them don't have a listing for it. One insurance site did have the model and then condescendingly said that the model wasn't made until 1978 Mad

I thought they all had a standardised database they draw from?

"In December 2019, Kumar performed for free at a Christmas charity lunch event for the Lord's Taverners, to mixed reception. The routine included political jokes on Brexit and colonialism, and Kumar was booed off stage.

Following the event, the Lord's Taverners released a statement emphasising the apolitical nature of the organisation and expressing that they did not support the behaviour of some members of the crowd, which included booing, heckling and the throwing of a bread roll."

Lolz.

I've dropped the cars sump plug down the drain. I can't drive to get one as engine has no oil in it. It's too cold for the bike so I've had to catch 3 bus's to get a new sump plug and washer. Crap day.

Its the councils fault, they don't maintain the drain grills, couldn't lift it as it was packed with crud/rust. The only lubrication it had seen was the old engine oil from my car as it splashed between the vents. Bastards.
