I would like to take issue with people who have HUGE back gardens but make no arrangements for a shady place to sit in.

I need a sun umbrella for my precious skin, and there isn't one.

And I am not going down into the trees at the fenceline, its doggy-doo central down there.

Internet shopping. Placed an order last weekend with a reputable retailer, all items in stock and ready to be dispatched. Still no shipping confirmation and no sign of my stuff.

Normally it isn't an issue as I don't order things last minute, however as it was fishing bait and a few bits of terminal tackle I needed, and because I figured a week would be plenty of time for it to arrive, it has delayed my planned session on the bank.

When I first moved to where I live now, I had two shops near to me and my route to the lakes I normally fish, plus two near work - all shut now, so it's either get them by post, or rely on the stuff the fisheries sell, which often isn't very good quality.

I'm lucky that there's plenty of tackle shops near me. However, none had the guru lead clips that I'm fond of. Fancied hitting a river for some barbel action. Figured I'd order the clips and some pellets. I could still head up there with a tin of meat and a heap of cooked hemp seed, using either running ledger or paternoster... Thinking

Funny story... down in Norfolk, there's maggot vending machines. I used to use the one outside Jollies pet shop in Dereham, or the one outside the post office in Potter Heigham. The maggots are in a modified 330ml tin, where the end cap that has the pull tab is replaced by a plastic bung with air holes. The maggots were typically of good quality, if a bit pricey, but very handy when heading out for an impromptu session when the shops are all shut.

I'm getting about 2 or 3 a day on the land line and 1 or 2 a week on my mobile.

This week I've had:

[Computer voice] we hear you've been involved in an accident...
[Computer voice] this is a call from Amazon Prime...
[Computer voice] this is HMRC...
[Indian voice]Have you a few moments for a survey...
[Indian voice]Hello... (after long delay, CBA)
and numerous dropped silent calls

Various valid UK numbers (my phone automatically rejects blank, missing, invalid and international numbers.)

I found it went really quiet during covid and I wasn't getting stacks of junk mail either.

I got my first junk mail letter for weeks yesterday, thank you Churchill home insurance, Rolling Eyes and the home phone has started getting scammers cold calling on it. Evil or Very Mad
