As I already had the dry socket it's now number 1 treatment. It looks like it's starting to heal now though still hurts like hell.

I never paid much attention to the types who forge a living out of recommending what I should watch on my TV, they so often get it horribly wrong.

I always based my choice on the lead actors. I don't know how they do it, but if they liked & took the role, then I usually like the end result.

Apart from Tom Hanks latest movie "News of the World".

What on earth was he thinking???

My wife ordered some jewellery. Let's say it was 3 charms for a bracelet, Charm A @ £10, Charm B @ £15 and Charm C @ £20. Order arrives with Charm A and two of Charm B. "No problem, send one of [B] back and we'll sent a replacement [C]" Except instead they issued a refund for the value of Charm B Sad

Now try explaining this fuck up to a CRM drone who's English probably relates to a 3rd or 4th language Shocked Oh and try and wrap your head around refunding a refund. Pretty much left my wife in tears yesterday Crying or Very sad

I went outside to cut some firewood today. It wasn't raining.

I had to pause the job for about 20 minutes and make a phone call.

When I went out again, it was raining stair-rods, as they aparently say Up North.

My saw was absolutely drenched, and it had "rained in" through the open door, soaking the porch floor, and now I have a large pile of soggy firewood waiting to be split, and a downstairs lavatory that reeks of two-stroke fuel, since I didn't want to open the workshop again to put the saw in there, 'cos the flippin' door has swollen with all the wet we've been having, and I don't know if I could even wrench it open, let alone get it closed again afterwards.

So I put the saw in there. I will have to take care not to stub my toe on the thing ("Oh, bugger" - Unlucky Alf).

Guess what? "Metcheck" says rain all day tomorrow.

Thank you for that cheerful note, I have another MOT appointment today for the Hyosung GT250r.
They don’t allow you to wait in the shop, so I’ll have to stand outside in the rain Crying or Very sad Mad .

https://www.metcheck.com/ is an easy-to-use forecaster that I have found to be very good; you can put in a postcode and pling "show hourly" to get a detailed forecast (or the next two days, or 16 days...).

Hopefully there will be an hour sometime coinciding with your standing outside when it's not raining.

I would take an umbrella. Or a boat. Or both.

If you want to feel better about it pissing it down, I can highly recommend taking up canoeing as a hobby.

I now have a choice of three rivers within 5 miles of my house I can go on. One of which is currently a grade 3-4 malestrom which I'm not going near just now but which could well be down to "fun" levels by Saturday.

Last week I'd have been looking at a 40 mile round trip for any reasonable moving water.

Got an unusually achey neck.
Left a message with the GP in case it ends up being inf mono or meningitis - but none of the symptoms really match those, so I'm going with "side effects of Covid Jab" for now, and snorting painkillers.
Bit annoying Rolling Eyes

Turns out that the achey neck is in fact the mother of all headaches.

It started out just at my neck/jawline below my ear, and has now spread all the way around the back of my skull under my hairline, and feels like an iron band at the back of my cranium.

When they said headaches might be a side effect, they really meant HEADACHES.

Paracetamol is hardly touching it Brick Wall

The second dose (booster) of the covid vaccine supposedly sometimes gives you slightly worse symptoms than the first dose Shocked
Looking forward to that, then.
Not.

I've just taken delivery of a single 5mm O ring. Packed in a 20cm X 20cm X 20cm box stuffed full of the contents of someone's paper shredder bin.

I wouldn't mind, but the envelope the O ring was in would've gone through the postal system if they just stuck a stamp on it.

You are confusing canoes and kayaks. Sounds like you are built for canoes like I am. If you're too fat to fit in one of these, you must be impressive (a 16ft prospector like this is rated up to 400kg). Many canoeists tend towards this type of build for some reason. I think it's because of their excellent picnic carrying properties and being a sport you can do sitting down.

I prefer my boats to have engines, fridges and rum. At a push, sails.
