As far as I recall it still is. Shame you didn't learn anything from the courses attended whilst getting your SC. If you had you wouldn't be gobbing off to the world on here. Incidentally, I'm not CTC, I just knew you lot would be surfing the net for it....no surprises there then.

Anyway I'm not saying any more on the subject, I'll let you have the last word, and I know you will, so knock yerself out.

I know the clearance levels as a part of my job. No surfing required.

Also, courses for SC? It's a *vetting* procedure. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Yep a vetting process.

I had to have a BPSS pass for work because I'd forgotten to get vetted a few years back. Almost as embarrassing as walking round with a green pass of shame (on my particular establishment)

Not allowed to say anything in my defence, but people that talk about it don't actually work in it. Anyone that has actually done a UK CTC would know that.

I'm not going to labour the point but equally I'm not going to sugar coat it.

You're talking utter shite and are obviously clueless about the industry or what goes on in it.
I'll happily talk about it and still work in it as I've said. You, I suspect, once watched a netflix docudrama on it.

You sound like one of the 200 SAS guys who were at the embassy.

I'm good at secrets.

I'm RNR (Royal Naval Reserve for you people who don't like acronyms (me)). Back in the 80's & 90's I was sent on a bunch of liaison and training courses with other MN officers. We were told it was top secret. Had to sign whatever offering up our first born as compensation if we were to divulge what we were about to hear. etc. Shocked

So I can't tell you actually what they were but they were nothing to do with nuclear power however if it had been I wouldn't have been able to tell you anyway Razz

Edited to add, I'm not very good at keeping secrets after an evening with Captain Morgan's finest.

Sssshhhh! I forgot my respirator.
But it's nice to know I wasn't the only one who went to the wrong embassy.

If it works like anything else I've ever encountered, then it's not an issue saying you work in fields which need X, Y or Z clearance. I'm currently working in an ITAR field, and can say that without issue. I can't tell you what I work on, where I work etc. It's the reason I'm deliberately vague about where I live, generic N.Wales being as close as you get.

All guitar amps should come supplied with a dust cover of at least reasonable quality. The plastic bag does not lend itself to a tidy look in the living room.

Back in the good old days if you were high enough rank in the MN you were automatically offered a rank in the RNR. I never really understood why. If it was war you need the merchant ships so why would you lose your most experienced people to the RN.

Anyway, they never let us play with the things that go bang and TBH, they were shit sailors anyway. Back in port every couple of days to recuperate from having to actually go to sea. And the RN officers could not drink.

What’s a CTC? I’m familiar with the Official Secrets Act, SC, DV and a few others but CTC is a new one on me!

I found myself missing Longshanks last night.

When he was here, I almost never cuddled him, at risk of getting cat bogies in my face, and when he sneezed, I felt myself sub-consciously wincing if I heard a bogie land somewhere but I didn't see where. Puke

But now I miss him.
FFS, stupid wanker.
