I got stuck in an elevator with 2 foreign women once many years ago in Birmingham in the Rotunda. That was not fun, 1 hour 45 minutes on a Sunday in July. Boiling hot, one woman needed a wee and did not successfully hold it in. That was not an experience I want to relive.

Sounds like a normal night in cardiff

That's nothing, once I went for a nap at 6pm and woke up at 4pm. I thought I'd gone back in time, in fact I'd slept for twenty two hours!

People who go to a gig and sing at the artist... don't you go to hear them perform? It should be like the old days when people were told to keep their applause to the end Smile

I sung along with Freddie in '86, I could still hear him and I don't think anyone else minded.

Anyway, my gears are being ground by job uncertainty.

"Spicy" five-minute noodles whose low-rent marketing tactics underplay their Scoville levels until they are actually sliding down your throat.

Doctor Terror always knows best, although it's 3pm and I haven't eaten.
That's what music making and surfing does. Neutral

Have got a hot-pot sausage casserole on the go and spuds at the ready.
I foresee much trumping later. Thumbs Up

Yeah I have a pork stew on the go for later, which I also burnt my oesophagus on that, whilst testing it for flavour as well ... so the ice cream has come in very useful.

I've just to got to make some mash. Or possibly dumplings, depends on his Maj's preference. Wub

So, Miss Borg and I put together our Haynes 4 Cylinder Combustion Engine tonight. I was minded of Bodytard's epic head-strip thread several times.

Eventually all was tight and we fired it up. Suck-squeeze-bang-blow, suck-squeeze-ba... whoa, what's up with #4 cylinder? The exhaust and inlet are opening too close together.

Strip down, careful check (we all have a set of jeweller's loupes, right?) and, oh my Allah, the H cam is misaligned by 90 degrees (1/5th of a circle).

Yes, the flat is aligned on the half-round cam-shaft correctly, yes it's facing the correct way. It's just not made correctly. The cams face: up/down, left/right, right/left, down/left (should be down/up).

You monsters, Haynes. You monsters. How could you?

Bright side is, we spotted it, figured out the problem, and could see why it would be a problem. Most educational mistake ever. Thumbs Up

Bit of a shit couple of weeks. Had an unexpected death at work which meant there had to a be a police/coroner investigation. On day 14, I mentioned that I should have heard something by now. Got a reply of “Oh – did nobody tell you? You got cleared 2 days ago.” Cheers for letting me worry for longer than necessary!

Son number 2 is recovering from busted ribs following car crash a couple of weeks ago. Is currently riding my Gilera as it’s a more comfortable riding position than his bike. Had a mishap – and now has an ACJ dislocation as well. My poor Gilera is a bit battered.

Son number 1 knackered his back at work.

Then yesterday, hubby got distracted by an elephant at the side of the road! Tried to ride around a car as he didn’t have room to brake. Almost made it. Didn’t come off, but now has 2 broken toes, a gear pedal folded in half and a floppy foot peg.

Not important in the grand scheme of things, but am spending my birthday looking after my poor battered guys, instead of the planned celebrations.

Could I have a small piece of land in NE Somerset please. Half an acre will suffice. I already have a bike.
