they couldn't change the payments then as it was on what I earned last year (when I was off work) fucking retards

Lots of people I work with got into fairly serious debt over (working) tax credits. Far as I can tell they give you some money then ask for it back.

its a pile of shit anyway not funny in the slightest

If you're reasonably confident it's their mistake, phone them and ask them for a letter detailing how the error was allowed to happen and who was responsible. They will often write off a smallish debt to prevent having a paper trail showing their incompetence (regardless of whether "their" is a person or the department itself).

Worth a go... advice from colleague whose wife works for the benefits agency.

Feck me, my car has loose rear end (time to change some rubber bits = controll arms and some bushings) and my mechanic won't touch it. The parts to be changed go from £1 to £5. The only other place that would do it is the local Mercedes-Benz dealer who would charge me £35 just to look at it and I'm not even talking about the actual job. Mad

The Haynes manual says it's a 3 spanner job,

https://s2.quickmeme.com/img/ca/ca1b7c6db7cfa242127917a9ace57901d243d9fae6c27f77debafcbee595f3b6.jpg

If your mechanic won't touch it? Thinking It's not going to be easy or he would.

The thing with bushes etc. If you an lift a car on a lift and stand under it to work - reasonably easy. Doing it with a trolley jack and axel stands - no thanks.

Well, I'm gonna have to do it myself, I suppose. OR sell the car to someone who'd be willing to invest the time or money into it.

The mechanic is a VW concern cars specialist and the 90's multi-link suspension of my Mercedes-Benz might be too intimidating for him. Although it's a simple job, reading the Haynes manual. There are just more control arms than usual, that's all. No special tools required.

So, it's either DIY or sell it. Thinking

A Street Triple would have been fine, just saying Whistle

That does suck though, it might not be the sender unit itself but the wiring to said piece of shit under the tank Thumbs Up

As it happens, the Street Triple I sold has since been stolen Sad

Oh the Speed is fine, perfectly fine. Ordinarily I'd be annoyed that it didn't work but the payback is far too high for me to even consider this as anything other than an annoyance that'll only happen once - since now I know.

I'm getting a proper service done shortly, I'll get them to have a look.

Speed is very heavy to manhandle about... they'd probably hurt themselves just moving the thing Smile Streets are too desirable, that's the problem with them.

2 years (and a bit) later (after purchase) my boots are no longer waterproof and smell like a school boys P.E changing room, excellent.

Looks like the market hasn't changed much. £160 on the same pair, done me well and are popular.

The joys. Rolling Eyes

Self medicated with orange matchmakers and cups of tea. \nosensenofeeling.

And now I have a red itchy rash across my cheeks and nose. Off to the pharmacy for some advice I guess.

Booking a Eurotunnel train for at least 4 hours later than I should have.

Sit across from the ladies loo. At some time some hottie will come out with her skirt tucked into her knickers.

Zips!

Can no-one make a f'cking b'stard zip that doesn't f*ck up and fall apart in less than 12 months?

The amount of the bloody things that have broken in the past year is unreal and it's costing me a small fortune in either getting new ones put in or replacing gear.

There's got to be a better solution/invention. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

You could ask the Amish, they think that zippers are the work of the devil. Pretty sure they've got some 'work around' ideas to avoid them. Laughing

I remember undressing the girlfriend for a night of passion (many years ago Laughing ) when we were at a very very posh hotel in London and the zip on her evening dress jammed. What a passion killer! I got the 'Don't you dare break it, be careful, bloody hell I'll do it myself, just go away'

James Bond never had that problem.
