Who knows. Either way it was an unavoidable task that I've left until the last simply because the mileage marker approached for the next check and it didn't come with any history.

Sounds a little quieter now so hopefully the mpg will increase: I always suspected the popping was excess fuel burning (had the air filter replaced and cables lubed also so who knows what one of three needed doing more).

IL4 with a redline that starts at 10k and I hardly go above 5-6k: think I'll be safe to leave it for a while.

I wonder how many bikes are actually checked. The Haynes manual says mine should be checked every 12k or 2 years Shocked, along with greasing the steering head bearings. No one's going to do that every 2 years Confused

"By the time you notice that they (the valves) need doing the damage has already been done [to the engine]," comes to mind. I'm not quoting it as a fact -- for people with more knowledge than me could pick bones at it -- but rather the one that convinced me: three hours labours costs less than a new engine.

Suppose it depends on how long you want to keep the bike for and how much attention a person plays to the mechanical upkeep.

Mine says 7.5 k for valve clearances, think I'll make me own mind up as I go along now I'm got a starting point: never hurts to know the engines in good shape.

I read something about modern engines not really needing them done, that's good enough for me Laughing That's when I become suspicious, the MT-03 had 12k intervals as well but said nothing about checking them every other year. I suspect manufacturers have different attitudes when it comes to how much money they can get out of their customers.

Woke up and was looking forward to watching a new episode of The Orville but it's skipped a week. I'll have to wait a week to get my fix now.

In London and other ruined cities it's also diwali time, so of course they have to go the extra mile and spend a packet
on enough fireworks to make anywhere inside the M25 resemble Beirut after dark for the next week or so. Homesick for all
the sounds of gunfire and explosions I expect. Mums area is super 'enriched' so it's very bad there and they are
at it until 1am or later typically. Her dogs are very upset by it all. In contrast I walk mine near a place where they
do clay pigeon shooting every Sunday morning and she couldn't care less about loud bangs. She's a countryside dog. Cool

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I wasn't happy at losing a 2-0 lead but there's always a silver lining.

My little one has a really bad case of hand foot & mouth disease.

He doesn’t have a clue what what’s going on other than the pain he’s in. Breaking my heart seeing him like this.

Oh well, onto another sleepless night. Sad

Strictly! Embarrassing to see amateurs overdressed and showing off their little talent. Luckily I only get to see about 2 seconds each time I pass by the lounge door. At least dad dancing is what it is. These idiots take themselves seriously. Not enough bike programs on TV. How about 'Knee Down' or Strictly Bikes' ?

The cat-from-next-door isn't from next door. Shocked
I spoke to the lady next door today and she thought it was mine.

So now he has a snotty nose, I suppose I ought to take the twat to the vets, seeing as how he spends most of his time in my house. Rolling Eyes

A virus that kids get.

Rashes, spots, blisters, ulcers.

On their hands, feet & mouth. Inside & out. Commonly spreads to their privates.

15 month year old has it. In complete distress. Nothing to do other than see it through.
