Today began the closure of a 50 yard stretch of road on the South Side of Glasgow Toon.

This has caused the surrounding 25 square miles to go full Los Angeles. Lights not re-sequenced, 10 minute trips taking an hour, rampant horning, Google maps looks an arterial diagram with all the red routes.

Duration of works: 5 months.

Five.

Months.

Anglian water have shut off 3/4 of my marina carpark to dig a hole and it's going to be closed till February. Evil or Very Mad

There were absolutely no spaces free this morning as people use it to go to the hospital as it's free, rather than pay the hospital car park prices.

The problem is it's council owned and if they cotton on to how much it's used they will start to charge so no point moaning to those fuckers.

Unless - conspiracy theory - the water people are putting in pipes for a housing development that will be built on the car park. Shocked

My next door neighbour (little old Sikh lady) has knocked for the first time in probably 9 months - to give me some chapattis and black chana for my lunch.

So you will wonder how this could possibly grind one's gears, because it is indeed as fresh and spicy and delicious as you can imagine (some sort of minced ginger gravy from what I can gather)

But she seems to have a knack of knocking with food at EXACTLY the moment I have committed to making my own. I was just commencing to nuke some bacon, chicken and vegetable soup that I made on the weekend, to go with some root-veg mash.

If I wanted her to send some food over the fence, I'd end up starving - cos its entirely random when she does it and (so far as I am concerned) it would be out of order for me to knock and ask for some : "hello, how are you, what's for lunch?" kinda thing. So I have to wait until she offers it, obviously. But now I've stacked the fridge up with easy to eat things cos I am not well and cant be arsed to cook, and its thrown out my fridge-eating schedule.

So anyway ... I have shovelled down a couple of mouthfuls of root veg mash, totally ignored the soup and snorted the chana and chapattis Laughing

I don't know why I am complaining, I just felt I needed to, cos I am dying of apparent man-flu* and nobody cares.

The world's smallest violin player, just for you!

*man flu is always much worse when women catch it, because obviously we survive ordinary women flu without so much as a tishu. (that would be a badoom tishu, obvs)

The phrase ‘broke the internet’. No it didn’t, whatever that thing was that has been over sensationalised didn’t break the internet, its usually used for something that a small yet vocal minority care about to make it sound more important than it actually is.

Warehouse goods inwards and production supervisor

Basically the bloke who has been doing it is getting ready to retire so his jobs have been divided with me getting the ones in our part because the other lad panics if he has to do anything slightly different

Who the hell is Jane Cornwell?
With her slightly-antipodean-accented advertising stints pushing Saga Holidays on Jazz FM?
Why do they irritate me so much?

I think I'd quite LIKE going on a tour of the tequila factories in Mexico.
