Hi All

A few months ago I bougfht an old Micron/Alfa 4-1 for my XJ550/600 project - I knew the headers were seized in the collector but figured if it came off like that, it should go back on - right ? Well no not really.

Number 1 pipe on these almost touches the oil filter case at the bottom of teh engine and is still some way off the head to bolt it up.

No matter, I'll take it off again free-up the pipes from the collector (only push fit after all) to give myself soem jiggle-tolerance. But will they move - not fecking likely !

So far plus gas and some heat used (but blow torch was a bit weedy). Next is more heat and a stronger man than I to try and rotate the pipe(s) in its socket while tapping the joint.

Any other suggestions gratefully received..

Cheers

James

Final solution will be to slot the sockets at the collector with a grinder but if possible I'd like to avoid that as the whole thing is in reasonable condition at the moment.
