Hi Guys,

I'm planning on giving the zx7r a spruce up over winter (tyres, brakes, suspension etc) but I was also thinking of replacing/greasing as many bearings as necessary while I'm at it but I'm not sure which ones I should bee looking at doing.

So if you were in my position which bearings would you be looking at?

Cheers

GaZ

p.s the work will be carried out in a shed and not a proper workshop if that makes any difference.

I'd only change the bearings if they actually need changing, it'd pay you to spend some time checking the condition of things before splashing the cash.

If they're tired then a fresh set of wheel bearings always makes a nice noticeable difference to rolling resistance. Easy to change too.

Headrace bearings are another noticeable one if they're knackered, but given my last experience with changing them I think I'll be paying a workshop to do the job in future. Not fun.

I've not done any others myself so can't really comment on them, but I would imagine the swing arm bearings are the most often neglected and so might benefit from checking and greasing.
