okay, wall of text to come. (scroll to bottom for main points)
**could of posted this in general chat, but i also want views on the prob with the bike**
Finnish work at 1900
1923 nearing home bikes been fine and it just goes..... nah!
lost all power and quite possibly at the worst time, the junction of a busy roundabout so i get as close to curb as possible right indicator flashing and signal traffic to pass me,
push starter no joy, put in neutral push starter it starts, thought great went into first bike cut out,
at this point im assuming the side stand safety button,
so i push it on to the grass verge on the side and with what little light i have get to work on checking the safety button, seems free moving give it a little clean with a cloth cool,
go to start bike, no joy again, so i get off, neutral start bike, while stood off the bike put it in gear. 1st successful bike stays on, though grand. sit on bike, it cuts out! WHAT THE FLUMP!
do the same again sit on bike off it went! becoming aggitated at this point aswell as a shit tonne of traffic burning a hole in the back of me noggin.
so finally gave up, and in 5 years of riding never crashed and never called breakdown, so ring my breakdown,
have a 20 min argument with him saying im not even insured, so persauded him to ring my insurance company to check, he rings back after 10 mins. (by this time im oblivious to the staring and just sat on side of road with a box of tabs and a can of pepsi)
confirms im insured and said my policy covers for breakdown to come out try fixing it at the side of the road and if unable will recover me to a location of my choice withing a 20 mile radius of my location again thought great im only about 10 mile from home,
so get a text from breakdown informing me of the company name and estimated time (1 hour) so waited one hour and hey presto he arrived.
SOS Motorcycle Recovery
big white van lots of flashing lights..... just parks in the right hand lane in front of me thought okay, awkward at the exit of a roundabout but whatevs.
i explain my problem
he walks to bike "oh cant fix that at side of road, ill take you to a location.... blah blah
thought well thats shite but whatever means ill get home, so fiddles on with his phone getting authorisations and details etc,
throws bike in back of van straps on
generally decent banter with the guy on the way back drop me off, put bike in garage go to get changed
insurance breakdown rings,
asking if everything was okay did i get sorted i said he just recovered me to my house. she sounded concerned and said can i hold, so held for 5-6 mins
comes back and says did he try to fix it, i said no looked at the bike and just said he cant,
she wanted a more specific answer asking " did he physically try and fix it"
no he didn't"
disappears again,
comes back on saying some shite to do with he shoulda tried to fix it yada yada then i heard "you might have to pay a charge" i thought hold on a min!
and before i could ask she said shes gonna ring recovery and just sorta hushed me of the phone.
(still waiting for her to call me back)
any info on this? again never used my breakdown or insurance for anything other than paying the bastards. so not sure whats right and whats not,
secondly,
whats wrong with my bike?
on a lighter side,
im generally pleased with the general populous of drivers, the time i was there i had 12-13 drivers ask if i was okay,
i had a guy say he lives near by and has tools he can bring me,
and then a "man with a van" who offered me a free lift back with the bike if i couldn't get sorted. ____________________ https://www.bikechatforums.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=68094

Unlucky Bro.
I know fuck all about the law, but I'd bet my left bollock that neither the law nor their written agreement state that you are responsible for the choices and actions of one of their employees.
That is worth a chuckle. ____________________ The above post is most likely nonsensical.
