Not the most technical of climbs but watching it I did take off my shoes as my feet started to sweat.

NOPE!

I used to be ok with heights but recently I seem to have developed quite a fear for them. I went to a canal boat lift in the summer that had a viewing platform that was about 30 metres high and despite it being a fairly wide viewing platform with a big fence/railing I had wobbly knees and just couldn't relax. My wife helped by laughing at me.

Nope Shocked
Always wondered about people that do stuff like that, do they have no fear at all, or is it just a case of needing an adrenaline buzz that much?

Thought he might base jump off - the real risky bit was the first stage dangling on some kind of cable.

Fair play on the climb to the top, but walking across the chimney on the 5" wide beam seemed like he was just asking for it. Shocked

I don't think I'd have the fitness to get up the cable.

Sod that. I used to be OK with heights but walking around the dockyard today where HMS Victory is parked I got nervous walking around the tiny walkway at the back of the ship. You get a real sense of scale of how big this boat is when you can see all the way to the bottom of the hull in the dry dock. It was a long way down.

I got all tense watching that, but I laughed at your comment, relaxed, and I'm back to normal. Laughing

My stomach was going all whirly watching that too...

I did do this though in Las Vegas, not the same but I almost filled my pants, nothing below but a 900ft drop.

I used to do some stupid things like this when I was a teenager, not realizing that the danger far outweighed the excitement and I can honestly say I'm lucky to be alive today.

In this new world we live in where some would do anything to go "viral" we see more and more of these videos online, even advertised by newspapers and TV programs. What we rarely see or don't see at all is when things go wrong and lives are lost.

That being said, I love watching people doing dumb s**t, and I'm happy that now I know how to differentiate between good, safe s**t and bad, dumb s**t...wait a minute, some people think that riding a bike is bad, dumb s**t, hmm guess I'm still working things out.

Anyone else want to try this? I was looking at the tower a week or two ago when I had to nip to Shanghai.... no way I could do what they do.
