HDMI splitters/switchers

Anyone use them?
I've been using a push button 4 way switcher for a number of years but it doesn't seem to want to work with my PS5.
Any ideas?

Try a different, known to work cable? Maybe all the pins aren't wired?

There’s several different versions of HDMI. Make sure the splitter is compatible with the version that the PS5 uses (HDMI 2.1 in this case).

Had no end of bother with this.

Either the ARC socket on the TV misbehaving.
Knackered cables etc.
HDMI does not like cables being yoinked out when stuff is on.
4k Sources can be really iffy about passthrough

My solution was to get a 4K compatible Denon receiver and use that as the splitter.

Zero problems since.

There is a point about signal strength too? Is it an amplified switch? I had an issue with this because I have a really long HDMI cable going from a wall plate to a projector. The signal from the DVD player wasn't strong enough by the time it got to the projector.

I actually fitted the switch before I had more than one HDMI device, it made sense to add redundancy rather than just using a single port amplifier.

No idea what the switch I have is. It's hard to get at and I don't want to disturb the birds nest at the back of the hi-fi cabinet.
