hi guys, cant find anything on here specific to my bike.

i need to renew my rear sprocket teeth are looking too thin for my liking.

but obviouslt doesnt make sense to change the rear and not do the forward one and might aswell get new chain too.

however ive stumbled upon something im not familiar with

i was using this site as a rough price guide. (im aware i can get it as a kit rather than individually)
im also told D.I.D Chains are better (dont know why just told they where)

https://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/suzuki-rf600-parts-c-4008_4353.html?page=3

anyway.

i see in the way of "teeth" theres a standard option, but then theres others with like 15,16,17 teeth.
what am i best getting?
just keep it standard?

cheers

Andy

Keep it standard unless you have a specific reason for wanting to change stuff

nope as far as im aware the bikes standard and i have no desire to modify that area etc.

needs more TLC to look like a bike rather than something the previous owner left to rot. cosmetics etc

cheers dude

Fewer teeth on the front = closer gears, higher revs, better acceleration, worse fuel economy, possibly a lower top end.

More teeth on the front = wider gears, lower revs, slower acceleration, possibly better fuel economy, unlikely to get higher top speed (because you're not going to make any extra power).

I've gone down 1 on my GS because BMW geared it up from the F800GS model and I believe got it wrong. Too big a gap between 1st and 2nd. However, in most cases you'll be fine with stock.

When I bought the CB-1, there was 44 teeth back, the bike was fun and did 190+kph. But, the mpg was terrible and the bike ran very hot, never overheated, but the fan was on very often. Then, I put 40 teeth back (oem was 36-41, IIRC). The bike was a bit lazy, could do about 170kph, but the mpg got much better and the engine colder.

CB-1 had "low torque" engine, so the final drive gear ratio did a lot.
