Getting licence updated.

Ok i passed my bike test two years ago this coming Tuesday. This was before they changed the laws so i was on 33bhp for 2 years and now i should be on a full licence (in a few days) How do i go about getting it updated? Or should i just contact dvla? cheers

No need. Your entitlement automagically upgrades, you don't need a license to prove that.

If you want though, you can pay £20 for a copy of your license after it upgrades. Do not surrender your current one, just tick the "lost" box.

Be aware that the "From" date on your new unrestricted A entitlement will (most likely) be shown as tomorrow, not 2 years ago.

I just checked my details on the .gov.uk website. Says my entitlement started DEC 19th 2012, no mention of 25kW, no suggestion my entitlement started today. All is good. Restrictors out today. Motad pipe fitted. Promptly ran out of fuel on the first bit of clear straight road out of town trying it out and thought I'd blown it up. Fortunately my solenoid reserve works so didn't have to push the bike.

The new power was great apart from when I tried a top gear roll-on to see if anything more exciting would happen and was met with a complete loss of power, fortunately followed by the sudden recollection that I'd not filled the bike up since she went over in the wind due to cover becoming sail and the convenience of a handlebar mounted reserve switch that actually worked this time.

To be honest the biggest difference is I have much less engine braking (restrictors were in the exhaust) and the bike holds a given speed with much less throttle adjustment. I'm quite enjoying the reduced risk of smashing my balls against the tank.

Of course being me I set out to find all of the new power and rode the bike in a most assertive manner for a bit, enjoying the way that instead of tailing off by 6krpm there is now some kind of rush of power that carries on as far as I dare let the bike rev out. (Need to do more maths on that but suspect it goes on to almost 8krpm)

Obviously my hooliganism indicates that I can't be trusted with the extra power and needed further training and testing before being allowed to explore the capabilities of the bike.
