My MotoGP ticket for August. Feck me this is getting expensive now - £100 for a weekend ticket plus £110 as my third of the cost of a caravan in the campsite. Still, at least the food and beer will be cheap... Rolling Eyes

Have only had it a few days so far but first impressions are good.

It sucks a good amount of moisture from the air,.
Similar noise levels to a fridge when running (it's a compressor model so I guess that's inevitable).
Uses about 150W on max according to my Kasa smart plug.

Very easy to empty the water container and you (your missus) can use that in your (her) iron.

Everything can be controlled by the app which includes schedules and countdown timers.

Smart mode does its own thing, laundry mode for helping dry the washing, target mode where you set the target humidity and boost mode for max noise.

There was a voucher in the box for a free pack of 3 filters which arrived today.

Having said that, I just bought and ate a whole tin of Ambrosia Rice Pudding and washed it down with a Frys Peppermint Cream bar, so I'm not really in a position to cast the first stone Laughing

A Razer Basilisk v3 mouse.

Working from home I'm spending my money on ergonomics - decent chair, mechanical keyboard - this was the last puzzle piece. I like the Basilisk has a bit of a slant to the left/right mouse buttons so I can get a better hand angle. Having your hand horizontal for a mouse is a big no-no, carpel tunnel syndrome and all that.

The scroll wheel is odd, you can switch between clicky and freewheel in software. Fuck knows how they manage it Smile

A meal for my birthday at Pasha Turkish Grill Resteraunt in Bletchley, MK. Absolutly wonderful if rather expensive. I would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone in that vicinity.

There's a rather nice Nepalese restaurant in my town. I'm not sure how authentic "spicy Ghurkha curry" is but very tasty nonetheless Drooling

The Nepalese "Ghurka" curry houses near me are definitely superior to the run of the mill Indians. I think Fenugreek (methi) is used a lot in Nepalese cooking and i think it makes the difference.

I used to be a regular customer of a Nepalese restaurant on the one way system in Greenwich in the 80s and 90s. It was the best of all of the Indian style restaurants we'd visited around southeast and east London at the time. Our other favourite was an odd little restaurant and takeaway in Manor Park/Forest Gate called The Ronak that did some unusual southern Indian vegetarian dishes. I've never come across another restaurant like that one though.

A Klein Bottle. Should arrive tomorrow. I've always wanted one. I suspect this one is going to be disappointingly small but still...

The Cochin in Bedford and also in Hemel Hempstead are South Indian food - they do a fantastic Dosa too. I much prefer the Southern Indian flavours and spicing.

I think a lot of the Ronak food was based on family recipes - I'd certainly never seen anything quite like it before or since. Some of the dishes were shaped and layered a bit like sushi and they did the best lime pickle I've ever tasted. I believe it's still going and if I'm ever back in that neck of the woods I'll definitely be paying them a visit.
