An old lathe. Nothing really that special except for the year it was made and a funny little mark stamped in the bed, which make it a nice little piece of history.
Anyone care to guess what makes it so cool? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Ooh not a bad guess.
The serial number dates the lathe new in 1943. The Symbol is the 'flaming bomb' mark of the US Ordnance Corp.
The lathe was built during WW2 and used in the manufacture of firearms/ammunition.
How cool is that! ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Mirror stem hole blanking caps. £10.00 plus postage
Ready for fitment after the reassuringly expensive bar end mirrors I've managed to bag as a birthday gift turn up. Thanks Mrs Grr xxx
Got to successfully order some first mind you.... As much as I like their product, and really wish to support a UK
business, buying from them is proving to be rather difficult. I will be sending them an email detailing ways in which
they could make the purchasing of their wares a bit less of a seventh circle of hell of an experience. So far we're 8 emails
in, and I still haven't managed to order the bastards. I've been trying for 4 days and counting to place an order and it's the
most disjointed, awkward and painful way I've ever found to spend over £160 of my wifes money. I so wish I'd bought
at the NEC bike show in person rather than end up dealing with one of the girls from the office. She's managed to sap every
last bit of the fun out of buying unnecessary and expensive motorcycle jewelry. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

It's day four and up to email #12 but I think we are in a place where we can pay for these mirrors a bit later today.
This must be what it feels like to kick a football and for it to end up where you meant it to go.
EDIT - They are ordered, I had to knock on the table three times and do a little dance to get it done because the
adaptors I needed for my mass produced Yamaha (used on at least 3 other models that I know of) handlebars are
rather handily not featured on their website. I'm always one to persevere once my minds made up
though and I think they will look smart on the Spacker. More so than the Rizoma mirrors which were a close contender.
But they were pisstakingly expensive at over a £110 each, plus the lens was tiny and it didn't fold in. As part of my
pantomime getting the bike to the street I have a narrow gap to get through, so they have to fold right in.
I can also have them over or under the bar as they aren't fixed. It will make a nice change to be able to see the road
behind and not just my shoulder and elbow and they will arrive tomorrow via DHL. It will take me less time to fit them
than it did to order them, that much is certain. Still I managed to support a UK firm, even if it was hard work doing so.
Inb4 barendpal - the road behind is clear. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
