Find a similar size Single Phase Motor.

Someone has donated a converter box, the motor is only one horsepower we think it should be OK, not actually run it yet because for some reason the plug on it does not match but can be swapped - on the way.
It won't be very demanding on single phase if need be but the motor is very 'integrated' into it.

Notable purchases over the last couple of days are a 50" Panasonic telly (an absolute mindblower of a buy, way too much choice) the bestingest Black & Decker Workmate and a kitchen waste bin, which are much more expensive than I imagined them to be.

I think the last big ticket item I need is a vacuum cleaner of some sort, which is doing my head in nearly as much as the TV.

If you already have a converter you should be set but otherwise you should be able to rig up a steinmetz connection with a capacitor or two if the motor can be configured in delta.

Did you get an Ambilight one? I always saw the Ambilight as a gimmick but after getting one because it was on a stonking deal and I used my brothers' staff discount I fucking love it. Makes a massive difference to immersion. I am gutted that Philips don't make an Ambilight TV over 75 inches, I want my next TV to be 85 inches.

Traded a used set of GSXR rearsets for these

I'm pretty sure "TEC bike parts" are just re-branding the same cheapo RFY ones on eBay and charging a premium but they will be better than the indian made ones I have on one of the Enfields.

Hogring pliers and a pack of 200 hogrings. Fitting heated seat pads to the car seats whilst the weather is shite and this time I value my fingers more than the 15 quid this cost.

Custom manifold for my project bike. This is the first ever custom bike part I've ever commissioned. I think it's good work.

In answer to the questions and suggestions, no I didn't buy an Ambilight TV, couldn't see the point - the process of choosing a set became so complicated it was getting tedious, so I applied some simple rules - what did I actually want it to do, how big did it actually need to be and what was the budget?

Once I'd figured that out, I went for a trusted brand and the Panasonic 50 fitted the bill - delivered at 11.30, was watching it before 12 and it's great Very Happy

As for the hoover, if I wanted an expensive thing, Dyson would never have been in the frame, Shark might have figured, but I would probably go for a Sebo - if I wanted something that was a really good vacuum cleaner, I would save myself some money and buy a Vorwerk.

As it is, I'm a single guy with no pets, no kids and no hair falling out all over the place, so what I needed was something that I could whizz round every once in a while and then tuck neatly in the corner of a cupboard - Hoover (with a big 'H') upright, coming tomorrow for 85 quid - job jobbed Cool

Yeah but if you buy two of them you can attach knives to them and make them fight to the death.

And you could probably get a discount on your home insurance if there's a roomba with a knife patrolling your house. Laughing

A device that will never appear in my house - not only do I not want something that is connected to the www listening to my every word, if I ever get to the point where I can't even be bothered to pick up a remote, then anyone that knows me has permission to enter my property and shoot me on sight.

Calm down mate, they also do some that aren't and just have a remote. I take it you don't have a smart phone then?

Feeling that pain at the moment. Picking up a "new" bike today. I have 1 month and 1 day left on my current policy. 36 ponds is required to change the bikes over, of which 34 is admin fee.
Meanwhile i can start running a new policy for 95 for the year, without the ncb still tied to the first policy.
Maybe it was always this shit but i noticed less before when my premiums were in the thousands as a kid.

Cant seem to find 1 month bike insurance anywhere either at a rate that makes it worthwhile
